AGenshin Impactfan has put together an interesting chart that details when each character made their last appearance in the game. While the initial launch ofGenshin Impactfeatured 21 characters in total, the number steadily grew over the years as players traveled across the continent of Teyvat. Most recently, Fontaine added 17 characters to the list, and despite this ever-growing roster, the newcomers are still capable of establishing themselves as favorites in the community.
However, the big downside of having an enormous cast, is that it sometimes takes over a year for certainGenshin Impactcharactersto make an appearance. While this is certainly true for Event Banners, as seen with Eula (and most recently Nilou), the same logic can be applied to story appearances as well. Given the linear progression of the main story inGenshin Impact, old characters are frequently relegated to Flagship Events, beyond the odd cameo or two.
To that end, a dedicatedGenshin Impactfan put together a comprehensive chart detailing the last appearance of every playable character. Unsurprisingly, Emilie, Tighnari, and Collei topped the list – as the trio recently featured during Emilie’s Story Quest in Version 4.8. Meanwhile, Summertide Scales and Tales allowed for plenty of character cameos, as befits aSummer Event inGenshin Impact. However, despite featuring on the Event Banners with Emilie in Version 4.8, Yelan has not made a story appearance since Version 3.4 in January 2023.
A similar example can be applied to Bennett, one of thestrongest 4-Star characters inGenshin Impact, whose last appearance was in Version 3.5. Since then, he has featured on the Event Banners three times, and is slated to have his fourth appearance in Version 5.0. On the flip side, Shenhe and Ganyu played a major role in Version 4.4, and even received premium outfits, but it has been well over a year since their last banner appearance.
While newGenshin Impactplayers may not feel the difference in when a character appeared last, they are faced with a rather unique problem themselves. For example, players who only began their journey in Teyvat after Version 3.4 have never metXinyan inGenshin Impact, as she has no role in any permanent piece of content, such as Hangouts or Story Quests. As the community looks forward to Natlan and its colorful cast of characters, it’s quite likely that this issue will only deepen.
