Summary
Sony has shared the officialGod of War RagnarokPC system requirements. The specs list reveals thatGod of War Ragnarokwill need notably beefier PCs than the previous game did to achieve the same level of performance across all categories.
TheGod of War RagnarokPC port was officially announcedin late May 2024. The game is scheduled to reach Steam on September 19, some six weeks ahead of its second anniversary.
As is normally the case with PlayStation PC ports, Sony has now shared the game’s system requirements ahead of its Steam debut. The biggest difference compared to theGod of Warsystem requirementsis that the new specs list mandates one generation newer GPU and CPU models across every performance category. The new minimum is the Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD RX 5500 XT paired with the Intel i5 4670K or AMD Ryzen 3 1200. Along with 8GB of RAM, this combo is estimated to deliver 30 frames per second at a 1080p resolution while using the game’s low graphic settings.
1080p @ 30 FPS w/ low settings
1080P @ 60 FPS w/ medium settings
1440P @ 60 FPS w/ high settings
4K @ 60 FPS w/ high settings
4K @ 60 FPS w/ ultra settings
GTX 1060 / RX 5500 XT
RTX 2060 Super / RX 5700
RTX 3070 / RX 6800
i5 4670k / Ryzen 3 1200
i5 8600 / Ryzen 5 3600

16 GB
190 GB
OS
Windows 10 64-bit
The listed performance estimates refer to native resolution, with no upscaling technology used.
At the same time, getting a stable 60fps at medium settings will require either the i5 8600 or Ryzen 5 3600 with the RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700, as well as 16GB of RAM. This hardware combination constitutes the game’s recommended specs. The RAM requirements cap out at 16GB all the way up to ultra settings. As is the case with mostmodern eye-candy games,God of War Ragnarokwill be much more GPU- than CPU-intensive. Aside from having an unlocked frame rate, the PC port will support many modern upscaling and frame generation solutions: NVIDIA DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel Xess 1.3.
The game will also be more than twice the size of its predecessor, requiring approximately 190GB of storage space. And while using an SSD was already recommended for the 2022God of WarPC port,Ragnarokmakes it a requirement. That’s far from an unexpected move, as many AAA titles released in recent years have insisted on solid-state drives. That growing group ofSSD-only games includes the likes ofStarfield,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, andAssassin’s Creed Mirage. Even some slightly older titles likeCyberpunk 2077have updated their system requirements in order to stop supporting hard disk drives post-release.
God of War Ragnarok PC Port Requires PSN Account
One final requirement for playingGod of War Ragnarokon PC is having a PlayStation Network account. While this was already confirmed back when the game was announced in May, Sony’s newly shared specs list reiterates that requirement.
