ThroughoutHonkai: Star Rail’s development, the RPG has seen plenty of scrapped characters and gameplay kits. Among the most notorious early scrapped kits was for a character given the codename “Dracula,” consuming their allies' HP to deal more Physical Damage to enemies. Many fans have speculated that Dracula may have eventually been reworked into Blade, who also saw a scrapped early version placing the Stellaron Hunter as a Wind element character. Now, a new leak is teasing an early scrapped version of Herta sporting a different element.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Shows Off Scrapped Fire Herta Kit
A recent video shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker Ubatcha shows off an early scrapped version ofHerta as a Fire element character. The video uses Pela as a placeholder model for the scrapped Herta and details her kit, with Herta using “Pyrospirits” as a unique stacking mechanic to increase her Crit Rate andadvance her Actions inHonkai:Star Rail. The test Herta’s Skill dealt AoE Fire damage, while also releasing all of her Pyrospirits to deal additional damage to a single target. The scrapped version of Herta’s Ultimate similarly dealt AoE Fire damage, while increasing the damage from her Pyrospirits.
The scrapped Fire Herta shows a marked difference from Herta’s full release withHonkai: Star Rail’s launch. The original Herta may have used a different weapon than the hammer utilized by Herta in the final version, given the test’s use of Pela as a placeholder. Herta’s early version also does not boast hertrademarkHonkai: Star Railfollow-up attacks, instead utilizing the stacking Pyrospirits to deal increased damage. The leak does not clarify how Herta would have gained more Pyrospirits in her scrapped version.
While HoYoverse continues to release new characters withinHonkai: Star Rail, the developer has shown its early cast plenty of love. Multiple members ofHonkai: Star Rail’s launch cast have since received alternate versions, like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae and the recent Hunt version of March 7th. Leaks have also teased anew type of gacha banner coming during Version 2.5, with fans able to choose between three different five-star characters as the featured unit. Fans can hope that the scrapped Fire Herta may someday make a re-appearance as an alternate version of the beloved character.
