Unlike inGenshin ImpactandZenless Zone Zero, there is no pet system inHonkai: Star Rail. While the game has featured different NPC animals, like Asta’s dog Peppy, and Tingyun’s bionic dog Diting, these cute companions can only follow the Trailblazer around during certain missions, meaning their companionship is only temporary. Other obtainable creatures like Ruan Mei’s pets or the Warp Trotter stay in a single location with no chance to go on adventures. The closest thing to a pet system comes withHonkai: Star Rail’s playable characters Topaz and Numby. Numby does walk alongside Topaz at all times in the open world, but no other characters possess this ability. Given how adorable Diting and Peppy are, fans have been asking for a pet system for a while now. According to recent leaks, their hopes may finally be fulfilled.
A new leak by reliable source Sakura Havenrevealed an adorable new petcalled Tuskpir. The animal resembles a small tapir with pink fur and wind-like details around its body. In the leaked video, the pet is seen walking with the player as a companion. It also has two idles in which he either cutely falls asleep on its side or sucks up air. The leak gives some of its lore, too, sharing that Tuskpir feeds on negative emotions and that the Luofu people used to collect its excrement for medicinal purposes to help patients sleep. If true, the pet will be obtainable after the Luminary Wardance festival, a storyline that started withHonkai: Star Rail’s current Version 2.4.

A previous leak by BabyMonsterTeamhad also shared rendersof the tapir-like pet and reported that, unlike Peppy and Diting, this new creature was placed in a separate folder called “Pet.” If this feature makes the final version, the Tuskpir pet should debut in the 2.5 update, which is expected to drop on September 10. Other HoYoverse titles do feature interesting pet companion systems.Zenless Zone Zerohas Bangbooshelping players in battle, whileGenshin Impacthas floating pets like Seelies. By now, quite a fewHonkai: Star Railfans have hoped the game would follow in its peers' footsteps.
TheHonkai: Star Rail2.5 patch will add three new playable characters, Feixiao, Lingsha, and Moze. Feixiao is set to become the next-best Wind-type DPS in the game. Players who want to pull for her are in luck sinceVersion 2.5 will give plenty of Stellar Jades.
