Summary

This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia Chapter 430.

My Hero Academiacovered its epilogue over the course of the last month or so, and finally delivered a proper conclusion to the story. Fans were delightedwith the journeys of Dekuand all the other Heroes coming to a proper end, where most of them went on to get happy endings, while others had stories that were somewhat unfulfilled. Of course, fans had wished for this epilogue to be longer in order to wrap up things better, but, at the end of the day, this is what they got, and while it was not perfect, it certainly did cover a lot of exciting things.

One particular thing that fans had their eye on was the Hero rankings after the conclusion of the war. Specifically, fans wanted to know how the Hero system looks like following the revamp, and who the top hero was at the end ofMy Hero Academia. Finally, the answer has now been provided in the last chapter of the story.

The Retirement Of Endeavor And The Change Of the System

My Hero Academia began with All Might as the number one Hero. This isn’t a surprise to any fan, and everyone knows that the Symbol of Peace was resilient for many, many years. Crime dropped to an all-time low when he was the top hero, and there was absolutely no one even close to him in terms of strength. The only one that he could rival him in battle was All For One, and All Might did his best to subdue him properly whenever they faced off in battle. However, eventually, All Might had to pass on his power to someone else, and that is where Deku came into the picture. After the quirk transfer, he was only left withthe embers of the One For All, which eventually burnt out in his battle with All For One. After this battle, he was Quirkless, and could no longer continue as the Number One Hero. That is precisely where Endeavor stepped in and took on the position of the strongest.

Endeavor becoming the Top Hero was great for his character as it certainly went on to show him what being a Hero truly meant. At the same time, it allowed him time for some self-reflection and helped him become a better human. Regardless of all that, Endeavor certainly lived up to the expectations of a top hero by protecting many people and saving them from various threats. Even in the Final War, Endeavor did incredibly well against the likes of All For One, and etched his name in history. However, it was clear for the fans to see that Endeavor would not continue being the Top Hero forever. His injuries in the Final war were so grave that he could not continue being a Hero anymore. Endeavor had to retire eventually, as he couldn’t even walk, leaving him crippled for life. In many ways, he might even have considered it a price to pay for everything that he did in the past.

With his retirement, fans knew that the hero rankings would change drastically. This is also where Hawks proposed introducing a new Hero system. Under this new system, the general public would be considered for hero rankings as well, especially after witnessing everything that they did in the Final War to help maintain peace and ensure victoryagainst the League of Villains. Fans don’t really get to take a deeper dive into this concept and how it works, and it wouldn’t be accurate to say that the author showcased any regular civilian etching their names in the billboard charts. Needless to say, the concept certainly does exist, and maybe, later down the line at some point in a sequel story, it will be elaborated upon.

The New Number One Hero After The War – Mirio Togata

Lemillion Acquired The Top Spot And Left Others In The Dust

After Endeavor’s retirement, fans don’t know who truly went on to become the New Number One Hero. Many Hero positions were completely shuffled. For example, Endeavor left the agency, Hawks stopped being a Hero and took a completely different position, Jeanist and Edgeshot were also displaced, and Mirko was injured gravely, even though it appears that she still continues being a Hero to this day. Fans don’t really get to see much of the Hero rankings immediately after the water. However, what they do get to see in My Hero Academia’s last chapter is a look at society 8 years later.

As long as that girl can smile…I can’t let this go! – Mirio Togata

By this time, the world has changed quite a bit, and so have the Hero rankings in Japan. The top hero at this point and the story isnone other than Mirio Togata, also known as Lemillion. He has consolidated his position as the number one, and this certainly does make a lot of sense. Fans were introduced to Mirio quite early and even upon his introduction, it was clearly stated in the story that he was the man closest to All Might even among the Pro Heroes, back when he was a student.

For him to have such fame around his name already back in his UA days just goes to show that he had the potential to be the best. 8 years after the war, he likely reached a very high level in terms of strength and became the strongest of his era.

You know how Togata-senpai skyrocketed to the top of the chart, surpassing even Kamui Woods and Mt Lady along the way? – Deku

The fact is that Mirio actually maintained this position in an era where Heroes were of a very high level. This was confirmed in the last chapter ofMy Hero Academia.Because there is more of a stability among the Heroes in My Hero Academia, becoming a Hero is much harder. It is because of that that the overall level of the Heroes is very high, which means that Mirio is actually the Number One Heroin a more difficult era.

The Hero Rankings Of Bakugo And Shoto

Bakugo and Shoto Are Neck and Neck

Bakugo and Shoto were also mentioned in the Hero rankings 8 years later in the story. It was mentioned that Bakugo was likelyeither ahead of Shoto, or they were on the same footing. But, due to Bakugo’s unruly nature, Shoto was projected to surpass him in Hero rankings soon enough. It was also implied that Kamui Woods and Mount Lady are ahead of both Bakugo and Shoto, which is rather surprising. Fans don’t exactly know what the hero rankings look like, but, as things stand, these Heroes are the ones who might make the top five.

Of course, at the end of the day, the hero rankings will be even more exciting in the future, but for now, Mirio reigns supreme at the top.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and theManga Plusapp. The release date for the final chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 430, was Jul 14, 2025.
