How to Increase Carry Capacity In Once Human
Like most survival games,Once Humangives you the ability to craft an upgraded backpack that can significantly increase your storage capacity. To do so, you need to unlock theBackpack Expansion Memetic Specializationwhich pops up once you reach level 15.
SinceMemetic Specializations inOnce Humandepend on RNG, you may not get this particular expansion at level 15. If it does not show up, continue to level up until you’re able to unlock it.
After you’ve unlocked the Specialization, head to anIntermediate Supplies Workbenchand craft the Backpack Expansion using:
Once crafted, equip the Backpack Expansion from your inventory. This will immediatelyincrease your carrying capacity by 40 kg.
Alternatively, you’re able to put on weight and bulk up your meta to increase your carrying capacity. Overweight characters can carry more loot and resources and deal more melee damage. You can eat foods with a “Fried to Crispy” label to gain weight.
Backpack Expansion Upgrades In Once Human
Interestingly,Once Human’s Backpack Expansion upgrade comes in three tiers, each one with unique benefits. However, each tier has a durability period of 14 days, after which it will degrade and needs to be repaired or replaced.

40% Weight Reduction
This is the basic tier, requiring minimal crafting materials. It reduces overall weight by 40%.

60% Weight Reduction
A more advanced tier that offers a significant weight reduction of 60%. This tier requires rarer materials to craft.
3
80% Weight Reduction
The highest tier provides the maximum weight reduction of 80%. It’s the most beneficial but requires the rarest crafting materials.
Unfortunately, Backpack Expansions do not stack, which means that equipping a higher tier will automatically replace the lower tier.
