Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, like most FromSoftware games, features a few armor sets that are essentially too weird to pass up. Some outfits are so bizarre, that players can’t help but want to wear the set themselves. In theElden RingDLC, theHornsent SetandCaterpillar Maskare definitely near the top of the ‘weird’ list. Still, there’s no denying it’s an interesting set, and offers some unique benefits beyond its appearance. This guide will explainhow players can get the Hornsent Set, which includes the Caterpillar Mask, inShadow of the Erdtree.
Hornsent Armor Set Overview: Pieces & Stats
InElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the Hornsent armor set is made up of four pieces: theBraided Cord Robe,Braided Arm Wraps,Soiled Loincloth, and theCaterpillar Mask. When all four pieces are equipped, the Hornsent set weight is 7.1.
TheHornsent Setis the exact set you see the Hornsent wearing throughoutShadow of the Erdtree’s main story. It is made up of mostly rags and braided rope cords. While this does not offer much in the way of protection, it is extremely light. The entire set weighs less than many single pieces of heavier armor. For those players that have mastered the art of evasion, the Hornsent set will be a perfect fit. The Hornsent Set’s only real protective strength is its overall Focus level. This makes it a good set for players wanting to avoid Madness buildup. Overall, its non-physical damage negation is decent, on par with the better sets in the weight class, but it does not greatly excel in any one area.
Special Enhancements:
Enhances both watchful spirits and the vengeful spirits summoned by horned bairns.

Where To Find Hornsent Armor Set Location
To get the Hornsent Set inShadow of the Erdtree, you mustfollow the Hornsent’s quest, at least up to a certain point. There are several points inShadow of the Erdtreewhere you may get the Hornsent Set, but they all involve reaching distinct points in either the Hornsent’s quest, orNeedle Knight Leda’s quest. You’ll first encounter the Hornsent at the Three-Path Cross, where they give you the first map to Miquella’s Crosses. Eventually, they’ll move to the Highroad Cross in Scadu Altus, where you can give them the Scorpion Stew. The Shadow Keep, however, is where things can take a turn.
If you speak toNeedle Knight Ledaat Highroad Cross after Miquella’s Charm has been broken, you’ll begin to see her change. She no longer trusts many of those around her. The Hornsent is at the top of her list, and she wants to kill them. This leads to a summon sign being found in the Shadow Keep, which allows you to either assist Leda in killing the Hornsent, or assist the Hornsent in the fight against Leda. If you assist Leda, you willget the Hornsent Set when the Hornsent dies. However, if you assist the Hornsent, you’ll have to wait until later to get their gear.
After assisting the Hornsent, you will be able to summon them during the fight againstMessmer the Impaler. Once that fight is over, you will not see the Hornsent again until the very end of the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. In that region, your goal is to reach the Church of the Bud. Just before the church, you’ll encounter a large chamber filled with liquid rot and red pests. There is a long ramp that leads up to the Church of the Bud. As you make your way up the ramp, the Hornsent will invade you. Defeat them here to get the Hornsent Set and Falx, their dual curved swords.
If you do notsummon the Hornsent to fight Messmer, and you did not assist Leda, you will still be able to get the set later in Enir-Ilum. Near the end of that section, you’ll fight Leda and her Allies. At the end of that fight, you’ll find the Hornsent among the dead. you’re able to collect the set then.
