Steamworld Heist 2offers a lot of ways for players to customize their bots, bothin terms of combatand in some cosmetic ways. Hats are worn by your bots and change their appearance but offer no actual changes in gameplay.

Hats are a collectible that players can continue to collect as they progress through the game, with the main method of getting them is to shoot them off the heads of enemies. Shooting the hats of enemies isn’t a simple task, and will require a true marksman to make it happen often.

How To Shoot Hats Off Enemy’s Heads

Not all enemies will wear hats, but as long as there is a hat on their head, it can be shot off and collected. You’re only allowed to have one type of each hat, so collecting multiple of the same will be a waste of time and possibly put the mission in danger. To shoot a hat off an enemy’s head, you’ll need to eithershoot the hat and not the enemy orget a headshot.

The best method is to try andgraze the enemy’s head and just hit their hat, wasting a turn in terms of damage but increasing the odds of the hate dropping. This is best done by a unit that has a line when aiming, such as someone with a sniper. Once a hat is dropped, it will need to be picked up off the ground by standing on it and the mission will need to be completed.

Can You Lose Hats In Steamworld Heist 2

Characters can switch and equip any hats with no restrictions outside of a mission and wear them until they are shot off. If your own bot’s hat gets shot off, it will drop and can be picked back up, though the hat is not lost. Yourown hats don’t need to be picked up, and will still be in your inventory when you return from the mission.

A list of your hats can be found in the menu, being the third option from the right, and can be equipped on any crew member in the crew menu. Unlike other items you find inSteamworld Heist 2; you can’t sell hats for Gallons, and will need tofarm them using other methods.
