The void entity Xal’Atath, once trapped in a Shadow Priest dagger and now given fleshy Elven form inBattle for Azeroth, is poised to be one of theWorldsoul Saga’s most significant players.
As an introduction to the story ofThe War Withinplayers wholog into the 11.0 pre-patch clientfor the first time will be able to learn about the origins of Xal’Atath and accompany Alleria to meet with her mentor Locus-Walker. But before all that, you must meet the “The Harbinger"WoWquest prerequisites.
You don’t need to do much to start the introTWWquest, but some players have had issues – if you cannot start “The Harbinger” quest, be sure to try some of the solutions listed below the quest start tutorial.
WoW The War Within: Harbinger Questline Requirements
There is reallyonly one requirementto start “The Harbinger” quest:WoWplayers musthave a character that is at max level, Level 70. There is a misconception that a character must have unlockedLegionDalaran to get this quest to start. The Dalaran Hearthstone is not required to get to the “The Harbinger” quest start location – it’s relatively easy to get there even if you have never set foot insideLegionzones. The Dalaran Hearthstone just makes it easier to get back for follow-upquests and the Radiant Echoes event.
Indeed, theonlyrequirement to start “The Harbinger” is tohave a max-level character. Then, it’s a matter of logging in and waiting for the teaserWar Withinquest to be automatically added to your Quest Log.
How To Start The Harbinger Quest In WoW TWW Pre-Patch
To start the Harbinger quest,WoWplayerssimply need to log into the game on a character that meets the max-level prerequisite. After loading in, you should automatically get a quest added to your Journal titled “The Harbinger”. Whether you accept the quest after hearing Khadgar’s talking head or not, this quest should automatically be added to your Quest Log.
You will be directed toLegion’s version of Dalaranto speak with Khadgar and Alleria Windrunner, two of the major characters inThe War Within. If you have a Dalaran Hearthstone toy, use it to quickly get to Dalaran. If you don’t have it, either enterLegiontimewalking and progress until you earn it, or take the portal to the Broken Isles from your faction’s main Capital City and fly to Dalaran.
Because this quest requires max-level characters, and Skyriding is available on all mounts, it’s a matter of minutes to reach Dalaran once you are in the Broken Isles.
“The Harbinger” WoW Quest Issues & Solutions
Some players have had issuesgetting theWoW TWWHarbinger quest to pop up on a character who should be able to start it. If a character meets all of the prerequisites listed above, players who still cannot start “The Harbinger” quest should check the list of common problems below to see if one may be causing the issue.
If all else fails, and you are unable to figure out the root cause of what is causing “The Harbinger” quest to not start,check your Adventure Guide, and flick over to the Suggested Content section. Here,flick through the pages until you see “Hunt For The Harbinger”, and accept the quest.
If the quest does not appear in your Suggested Content, and your character meets all prerequisites, consider sending in a Support ticket.
