How Zhezhi Refines the Sub-DPS Role in Wuthering Waves
TheWuthering Waves1.2 updateintroduced Zhezhi to the playable roster, and her kit comprises multiple standout abilities. For starters, her Skill shares a unique interaction with her Forte circuit as it consumes the gauge to conjure Phantasmic Imprints. She can then blink to the location of the summons to launch a crane attack, which serves as her primary source of damage.
Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation is where her sub-DPS potential kicks in. She can provide off-field damage by unleashing coordinated attacks after the active Resonator hits a target. That’s not all, as her Outro Skill can boost the next character’s Resonance Skill damage and Glacio DMG and restore their energy. These traits can benefit severalDPS units inWuthering Waves, but mostly Jinhsi, as of writing.
Zhezhi Embodies The Sub-DPS Role
The sub-DPS category inWuthering Waveshas scarcely any representatives, and the ones at the top possess some form of coordinated attacks to stand out. Zhezhi checks the box and, given the opportunity,can inflict some serious Glacio DMGwith her Resonance Skill. Mortefi is the only other character that has similar gameplay, but his damage falls short in comparison; after all, he is a 4-star Resonator.
In contrast,Yinlin, with the right build inWuthering Waves,can hit like a truck when she gets sufficient field time. Zhezhi has an upper hand as a sub-DPS, given that her abilities are easier to use and her coordinated attacks take less effort to activate.
Zhezhi Sends Jinhsi Into Overdrive
Players can pair Zhezhi with almost everycharacter inWuthering Waves, but Jinhsi benefits the most from her arsenal. This has to do with Zhezhi’s outro ability and Resonance Liberation, which increase the Resonance Skill DMG of the incoming ally and allow them to trigger coordinated attacks, respectively.

How Zhezhi Fits Into Other Teams
Needless to say, Zhezhifits into manyWuthering Wavesteam compositionsaside from the one with Jinhsi. Looking at her kit, Lingyang comes to mind, since his arsenal comprises a powerful Resonance Skill to benefit from the Outro buff. In addition, he can use his Ultimate ability to enter an empowered state to inflict consistent Glacio DMG, meaning he can properly utilize Zhezhi’s elemental buff and energy restoration. Hence, Lingyang becomes a relevant character when paired with the new Glacio sub-DPS inWuthering Waves.
Likewise, Sanhua can currently reach her highest damage ceiling with Zhezhi’s assistance. The former is equally, if not more powerful than Lingyang and shares a similar playstyle. The key to playing good Sanhua is to utilize her Resonance Skill, and players would want to maximize its damage by employing Zhezhi in the team. Perhaps future Glacio characters may use the sub-DPS to create the best team inWuthering Waves.
