Jolan is the loyal servant of Count Ymir, and both can be found in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr inElden Ring Shadow of the ErdtreeDLC. Although her quest heavily relies on completing Count Ymir’s Ruins Map, you will be faced with a tough decision at the end of the quest.
CompletingJolan’s questwill reward Tarnished with various valuable items,excluding her armor set and shield. These two are obtainable from exploring Bonny Gaol near Bonny Village in Scadu Altus.
How To Start Jolan Quest In Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree
To trigger Jolan’s quest inElden RingSOTE, players must first head to theCathedral of Manus Metyrlocated northeast of Bonny village, and speak with Count Ymir. Take theRuins Mapand aHole-Laden Necklace, then seek Jolan leaning on a column near the room’s entrance. She will act indifferently and only warns you not to hurt Count Ymir.
Once players ring the bell in the first Fingers Ruins,return to Count Ymir to get another map. Speak with Jolan who says she is impressed with what they accomplished and can call her for help if needed. After exploring the Shadow Keep and running intoMessmer the Impaler, Tarnished can find her summon signinsidethe boss arena. However, summoning her is not necessary to complete the quest.
How To Complete Jolan Quest In Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree
Go along a hidden path through the Church District in the Shadow Keep to reach the second Fingers Ruins, and then return to Count Ymir who will be extremely pleased and reward you with a third map. To complete Jolan’s quest, players need to visit the third Ruins totrigger a boss fight inElden Ring Shadow of the Erdtreeand defeat it.
Once Ymir hands over theRuins Map (3rd), rest at a nearby Site of Grace to find the room empty. Examine the empty throne to reveal a hidden path to the third Ruins. Go down to be invaded by Anna, who drops theClaws of Nightonce defeated.
Before proceeding, go back to Jolan and tell her you killed a Night Swordhand underground. She will be surprised and say she’s in your debt. However, nothing else happens.
Head back underground and ring the bell to be transported to Metyr, Mother of Fingers boss fight. Defeat it and return to the Cathedral, where Jolan will challenge you as an invader. Defeat her, then defeat Ymir as well. Reload the area by resting at a Site of Lost Grace to see Jolan slumped down on the floor.
Should You Give Jolan The Iris Of Grace Or The Iris Of Occultation?
If players have two certain items, they will be presented with two choices; give theIris of Graceor theIris of Occultation. Both are obtained from the Land of Shadow.
Iris of Grace
If you give the Iris of Grace, Jolan’s body will disappear and players will obtain the Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ashes.
A hidden secret that many may know, is that you candrop to the top level of Rabbath’s Riseby heading east from the Hinterlands Site of Lost Grace in Scaduview. There, Tarnished will find Anna’s puppet. Examining the puppet allows you to usher her soul into Jolan’s Spirit Ashes, which turns it into Anna and Jolan Spirit Ashes.
To find it, go to the first floor of the Specimen Storehouse, and head left towards the elevator. Proceed right until you reach an area full of Jars enemies. Head left and kill the mutated enemy to get the Iris of Grace. To reach it faster, jump over the railing to arrivenear the Iris of Grace immediately.
Iris of Occultation
Giving the Iris of Occultation kills Jolan andmakes her drop the Sword of Night, which is her weapon. It’s a Katana that requires 11 Strength, 20 Dexterity, and possesses the Witching Hour Slash skill.
You can obtain it early onby using a sealed Spirit Springto jump on the Fort of Reprimand. Go to the entrance and jump through a hole to find an Omenkiller. Defeat it to get the Iris of Occultation.
