Summary
This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 266.
Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 266 dropped recently after a break week, and fans were incredibly excited to see the latest developments in the series. Much to the surprise of the fans,Jujutsu Kaisenis now headed towards its climax, which means that the story is going to be incredibly exciting from here onwards and that it will likely wrap up before the end of the year. Regardless, the fight between Sukuna and Yuji is currently continuing, and some very interesting developments took place in this week’s chapter.
Fans got to see Megumi make his comeback in this chapter, although not completely. Things are going to get even more excitingin regards to Megumi’s characterfrom here onwards, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what is next.
How Sukuna Destroyed Megumi’s Willpower
Sukuna Killed Nearly Everyone Dear To Megumi
Sukuna destroyed Megumi’s willpower quite early onin the Culling Game Arc. After switching with Megumi, he knew that the body was easier to control than that of Yuji. Sukuna was still facing a fightback from Megumi, which is why he took the soul bath and essentially suppressed his soul forever. The deaths of Tsumiki further traumatized Megumi and made him lose his willpower. At that point, Megumi had nothing to fight for, and he simply succumbed to the king of curses. Ever since then, the sorcerers have been trying their best to get Megumi back, and it has become one of the most important plot points in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. Fans have absolutely loved every development in the rescue of Megumi, from the fight Between Gojo and Sukuna, which excited them to no end, and remains to be the best clash in the entire series, to Yuji’s plea for a friend to return. Everything was packed with excitement from top to bottom, and fans were delighted that the author took such an exciting approach in regards to Megumi.
The one who took the brunt of the adaptation was Megumi Fushiguro’s soul! – Sukuna
Of course, there were downsides to this approach as well. The fact that Megumi was cut out of the story for a significant part meant that his growth was hampered significantly. Furthermore, the progression of his character Arc was also scuttled to a certain degree, and while it would have been fine if JJK continued for longer and this wasn’t the last arc, the fact that the series is wrapping up in a few chapters simply means that Megumi is most likely going to get enough time to grow further as a character, and that’s certainly is the downside of this approach.
Megumi’s Awakening in Jujutsu Kaisen
Megumi Fushiguro Fought Back Against Sukuna Recently
InJJKchapter 266, fans finally oughtto see Megumi Fushiguro awaken. This did not come as a surprise to the fans. Yuji has been trying relentlessly hard to get Megumi to awaken. His entire fight here against Sukuna is to save his friend. Yuji has tried before, and failed. Even within Yuta’s domain, Yuji almost succeeded in saving Megumi, but the latter rejected his hand of help, which meant that there was absolutely nothing that Yuji could have done about it.
Now, however, things are different. Yuji can land powerful attacks on Sukuna’s Soul. The Soul Dismantle was absolutely brutal, and while it didn’t leave any exterior wounds, the damage it dealt to the soul was telling. It weakened Sukuna’s control over Megumi’s soul, and made it so that he couldn’t prevent Megumi from waking up. He even threw up three fingers, but, later down the line, had to consume them again in order to maintain control.
It will be lonely without you, Fushiguro! – Yuji
Still, it cannot be denied that his control over Megumi is weakening with time, and that is precisely why Megumi has started to fight back now. InJJKchapter 266, Yuji had a conversation with Megumi. In this conversation, he told Megumi that he cannot ask him to live because he understands what trauma does to people. However, all he can say is that it will be lonely without him.
Upon hearing these words, Megumi decided to fight back, because he recognizes the worth of a true friend and he knows that the future isn’t as bleak as he thought it would be. Megumi knows that the world still needs someone to make it a better place. Megumi decided to fight back relentlessly against Sukuna and this allowed Yuji to land a powerful blow on him as well. Of course, things are far from settled. The fight against Sukuna is still continuing, andYuji will most definitely need helpfrom Megumi if he is to beat the king of curses permanently. Hopefully, Megumi can provide all the help that Yuji needs and soon.
How Yuji and Megumi Will Defeat Sukuna
Yuji And Megumi Will Combine Vs Sukuna Soon
Yuji and Megumi will most likelyteam up against Sukunain the upcoming chapters. For Sukuna, the 10 Shadows Technique doesn’t work anymore and Mahoraga is destroyed. However, it was clear to see in JJK chapter 266 that Megumi does have access to the 10 Shadows Technique. Because of his shadow, Sukuna’s leg sank and Yuji was able to land a barrage of powerful punches on him. Yuji even forced Sukuna to refill his burnt-out cursed technique and reopen his domain, and that certainly makes things that much harder for the King of Curses.
More importantly, the more Yuji hits Sukuna, the weaker his control over Megumi will get. Eventually, Megumi will be free from his clutches, and become a person of his own, ready to fight back. However, that is where the topic of merger could be brought in. Sukuna could trigger the merger when he feels like he’s losing, and when that happens, it is possible that hewill separate from Megumiand become a completely different entity. When that happens, it will be up to Yuji and Megumi to fight back against this monstrous threat.
Of course, it is not going to be easy for them to pull off, but it is important that these two get to shine together in the very last act of JJK before it officially wraps up. Given that it has now officially been confirmed that the series is in its very climax, fans know for a fact that characters such as Megumi and Yuji deserve all the attention that they can get.
All fans need to do is sit back and wait for theJJKchapters in the upcoming weeks and months, and hope that the story allows for the main characters to receive a proper conclusion. With that, Jujutsu Kaisen is most likely going to end soon enough, and fans can only hope that the conclusion is up to the mark.
