Kishimoto’s Inspiration For Creating Naruto Uzumaki

Kishimoto Highlighted His Own Struggles In Naruto’s Character

When Naruto began, Kishimoto likely did not have any idea in regards to how popular his series and the main character would become decades down the line. His core concept for the character of Naruto was to model it after himself in a certain way. Of course, there are inspirations that every author has, and for Kishimoto, Dragon Ball was obviously a big one. However, when modeling Naruto, he didn’t look at any other, but simply decided to look inward.

According to what Kishimoto mentioned recently during the joint Naruto and Boruto interview that he took part in with Ikemoto, Naruto Uzumaki was quite similar to him. Given that Kishimoto was from the countryside, it wasn’t easy for him to be recognized and taken seriously, which often led to him isolating himself, similar to how Naruto Uzumaki had to deal witacknowledgmentthe beginning of his journey.Naruto wanted to become the Hokageand, simply put, gain the acknowledgement of people all around them. For Kishimoto, the goal was the same. In many ways, Kishimoto modeled Naruto after himself, and the feelings that he felt while setting on his journey as a mangaka were well reflected in the character within the world of Naruto.

This wasn’t true just at the beginning of the Naruto series, but also continued later down the line. Naruto eventually became a massive success, but, Kishimoto’s struggles did not end there. Once again, Kishimoto drew inspiration from his own life to write the Naruto series. For instance, once Naruto became a big hit, Kishimoto faced problems in regards to dealing with the pressure that came with the popularity and the position that he held in the world of manga. Similarly, whenNaruto Uzumaki ends his battle against Pain, he ends up becoming a hero. He struggled with similar problems as well. One can also say that after Naruto saved the world, this pattern continued, and it is absolutely beautiful to see that the author actually drew inspiration from his own life to model these parts of his character.
