Konami has commented on fan demand forMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.Metal Gear Solid 4was released as a PlayStation 3 exclusive in 2008. While Hideo Kojima’s split from Konami has seen theMetal Gear Solidfranchise go on hiatus, Konami is making an effort to put the beloved series back in the spotlight. It’s accomplishing this by releasing the classicMetal Gear Solidgames on modern platforms through Master Collections, withMaster Collection Vol. 1 featuring the originalMGS,Sons of Liberty,Snake Eater, and the 80s-eraMetal Geargames. The next collection has not been announced at the time of this writing, but there is hope from fans that it will includeMetal Gear Solid 4whenever it does see the light of day.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2’s games have not been announced yet, so fans may want to keep their expectations in check. However, it’s looking increasingly likely thatMetal Gear Solid 4will one day come to modern platforms.IGN recently spoke to Konami producerNoriaki Okamura and asked about the much-requestedMetal Gear Solid 4port. Okamura said, “We definitely are aware of this situation withMGS4. Unfortunately, we can’t really say too much at the moment,” and then said that with Master Collection Vol. 1 featuring the first threeMGSgames that fans can “probably connect the dots.”

Metal Gear Solid 3is getting a remakein the form ofMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It will vastly improve the graphics compared to the original release while also making some big gameplay changes as well.Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eateris currently without a release date, but it’s expected to drop at some point in 2025.
