According to multiple online reports from players,Fortnite’s new V30.30 patch is much larger than expected. Twitter user Noahmattingly1 shared an image of them attempting to download the patch on their Xbox console, revealing the patch comes in at a whopping 68 GB. WhileFortnite’s seasonal updates can be largein both size and ambition, it’s rare for a patch to be as big as this one is. Players will need around 27 GB for the initial installation ofFortnite, though this increases with new updates, cosmetics, and other additions.

New Fortnite Update Causes Problems For Xbox Players

In response to complaints and concerns from Xbox users, Epic Games is addressing the issue head-on. According to the official Fortnite Status Twitter account,Fortnite’s latest game patchwas not intended to be this large for Xbox users, though players may just have to wait it out or make space on their devices themselves. The team says it understands the patch size is inconvenient and is investigating the issue, encouraging Xbox players to start the installation process ahead of time.
