Summary

For the past two decades, Traveller’s Tales has been taking players on wild LEGO-fied adventures through some of their favorite IPs. They have gotten tovisit the likes ofStar Wars,Indiana Jones,Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, and even LEGO’s very ownLEGO City. But while all of that has been pretty great, there is one film studio that has seldom been touched. However, the existence ofLEGO The Incrediblesshould have changed that.

Released in 2018,LEGO The Incredibleswhisked players away to the animated superhero adventure for a classic LEGO experience. It may not have reached the heights of its predecessors, but that did not stop it from becoming a fan favorite for many. And because of its approach, some players have been calling for a fully-fledged LEGO Pixar game for years to no avail. Yet, there is still time for the studio to rectify that, if it is given the chance.

LEGO The Incredibles Could Have Led to Something Greater

LEGO The Incredibles Dabbled in the World of Pixar

While Traveller’s Tales has messed around with all sorts of different IPs,LEGO The Incredibleswas the studio’s first major explorationinto the Disney canon. Releasing alongside the second film, this title let players experience the plots of both films through the LEGO lens. They could take control of the franchise’s most iconic heroes and fight its greatest villains across dozens of wild levels, and new features like Crime Waves made it even better. On top of that, they were given the freedom to explore the cities of Municiberg and New Urbem, which were each filled to the brim with collectibles to discover.

Even though Traveller’s Tales did release LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel games before LEGO The Incredibles, the Incredibles has been associated with the Disney brand since its inception.

LEGO Incrediblesserved as a fun way to experience the two films, but Traveller’s Tales ended up taking it a bit further than that. Instead of just stopping at those heroes, the game also let players unlock characters from some ofPixar’s most popular films. They could explore the world as Flik fromA Bug’s Life, drive through the streets as Lightning McQueen fromCars, and take on enemies as Woody fromToy Story. And the fun did not stop there, as there were many more waiting to be unlocked.

A LEGO Pixar Game Could Feel Truly Special

It was fun seeing these Pixar characters shine inLEGO The Incredibles, yet it should have led to so much more. Just like howLEGO DC Super HeroesspawnedLEGO DC Supervillains,LEGO The Incrediblescould have led to a fully-fledged Pixar LEGO game. Players could have built their way through some of the studio’s greatest films, includingToy Story,Monsters Inc.,Cars, Ratatouille, and evenInside OutorCoco. Not only would that have been hours of good gaming content, but it could also have been a fantastic treat for Pixar and LEGO fans alike.

A LEGO Pixar game had a ton of potential to truly blow audiences away, as the film studio has built quite an impressive library over the years. Even if it simplyfocused on theToy StoryorCarsbrand, another adventure into the studio’s filmography could have been a great time. But, if reports of Traveller’s Tales focusing on Warner Bros. properties are true, then there is a chance something like this will never come to fruition.

Even if Traveller’s Tales does not explore the Pixar catalog through LEGOs, another studio could attempt to do it. It may not have the same style or flair asLEGO The Incredibles, but at least it could show off these iconic films in some fashion. Even if they have to be on a smaller scale, Traveller’s Tales showed just how much potential there is within Pixar, so it feels like the perfect time to finally deliver on that.
