Summary
A gamer experienced incredible luck winning at an arcade and brought home a brand newPS5for their efforts. The impressive feat has surprised fellow gamers, especially at how it took the fan almost no time to win thePS5.
Malls, arcades, and even some cruise ships offer games or consoles as prizes from their various prize machines. However, anyone who’s used one of these prize machines will likely know that winning is a lot harder than it initially seems. While some of them are largely based around skill, a bit of luck is also required, and even moreso when the prize machine is the kind this kid won theirPS5 consolefrom.
Reddit user FreedomFingers shared their son’s incredible achievement of winning aGod of War: RagnarokPS5 bundlefrom an arcade machine. According to FreedomFingers, in the ten minutes it took them to buy food, their son went from starting up on a prize machine to bringing home the PS5. Apparently, their son was playing on the Mega Stacker prize machine and successfully won the base prize of 50 tickets. However, they were given a chance to double-down and go for the mega prize of the PS5, which they managed to pull off.
Timing and Luck Played Role in Winning PS5
Other gamers in the comments are extremely impressed at this feat, especially due to the fact that some think poorly of Mega Stacker machines. Theprize machineconsists of hitting a button at just the right time to ensure that blocks land in a designated area. However, the last row is typically almost impossible to get right. This is allegedly due to the machines having a threshold before they’ll actually pay out, ensuring that the owner makes a profit and doesn’t immediately lose all the prizes assigned to it. Presumably, FreedomFingers’s kid was lucky enough to start using the machine after others had already played on it, priming it to where it would actually pay out.
Several fans wanted to know how the user’s child managed to win the console. Outside of the timing being right for the machine to pay out, FreedomFingers says that theirchild plays games on the PC, and that their reflexes are “on point.” However, there is one downside to the story. The family is currently on vacation, and the hotel won’t allow them to hook up the PS5. As a result, the PS5 will remain unplayable until they get home, and their child is now entirely focused on getting home to play it rather than having fun on vacation. Nonetheless, it’s a praise-worthy achievement, and one that the kid will be able to brag about for years to come.
