Mortal Kombat 1has laid out a dramatically new timeline, but the sequel will have to make a big decision regarding one character. For most of the cast ofMortal Kombat 1, it wouldn’t be particularly surprising to see them in the next game in a similar form. One character presents a significant challenge for the developers, though. If they do return, then they will almost certainly need to see some significant new details in their design or storyline. Whatever the case, it’s something that should be considered well ahead of the nextMortal Kombatgame.

In many cases, thecharacters ofMortal Kombat 1’s new timelineare dramatically different from their counterparts seen in past games. Some allegiances have shifted, backstories rewritten, and overall, much of the cast has been notably revamped. Most of them still have the core of their fighting styles intact. For instance, iconic moves such as Raiden’s Electric Fly and Mileena’s Roll are still present and just as effective as usual. While a few movesets have been remixed in addition to the storyline, the spirit of the characters are still intact. Sindel’s Fighting Style in Mortal Kombat 1 is Thoroughly Unique

Out of everyone on the roster,playing Sindel inMortal Kombat 1provides one of the most unique and distinctive playstyles in the game. Sindel’s fighting style heavily features her hair; whether she’s whipping it at her opponents, using it to launch projectiles, or throwing around other fighters, it’s easily her greatest weapon. In addition, Sindel also has her classic scream, which inflicts damage while also momentarily stunning its target. These combined elements give Sindel one of the most distinctive and recognizable fighting styles in all of fighting games. Her incarnation inMortal Kombat 1really makes her stand out among the crowd.

Sindel Dies Before The Conclusion of Mortal Kombat 1

Sindel will have a major obstacle ahead of her whenMortal Kombat1’s sequel continues the storyfor one very obvious reason. InMortal Kombat 1’s story mode, Sindel gets killed by an evil version of herself, which is promptly dispatched by a furious Mileena. After the fact, her soul ends up becoming a part of Ermac, where she reunites with her deceased husband Jerrod. This event in the story puts future appearances by Sindel in this timeline in serious jeopardy. Sindel is a memorable character with an iconic fighting style, but she can’t keep appearing if she’s dead.

The Next Mortal Kombat Can Still Bring Back Sindel

Sindel’s story might not be over yet, since there are still ways for her to return. ConsideringMortal Kombat 1’s focus on timelines, a Sindel from another timeline could enter the story, filling the same slot in the roster. There are some other possibilities involving Ermac: since Sindel and Jerrod seem to be the dominant souls inside of Ermac, it’s possible that they could pick up some of Sindel’s moveset come the next game. Sindel’s death puts her future in the series in jeopardy, but there could still be a way for her to make an appearance inMortal Kombat 2.

In terms of memorability, Sindel was an amazing addition toMortal Kombat 1’s cast, but one that is now in a tight spot. While a definite improvement overMortal Kombat 11’s version of Sindel, the fact that she died in her first appearance presents a serious problem for the empress' latest incarnation. It would be a shame to lose Sindel already, since her fighting style is one of the most instantly recognizable in the series.Mortal Kombat’s next game will need a trick in order to bring Sindel back.
