Summary
My Hero Academiahas become one of the most memorable stories of its era. One of the most innovative series to date, Kohei Horikoshi takes the Westernsuperhero genreand adapts it into something special. The series is set in a world where people have developed abnormal abilities called “quirks,” which sparks a war between heroes and villains.
Izuku Midoriya starts as a quirkless young boy with dreams of being a hero. Izuku gets more than he may be able to handle when all his dreams come true, and he winds up in the middle of a bitter rivalry between the world’s greatest hero and the world’s most sinister villain. Conflict is a common occurrence inMy Hero Academia, and most of the fights that occur are catastrophic battles between powerhouses. However, there are a few that are obviously mismatched. The following examples are some of the most one-sided fights inMy Hero Academia.
1Shoto Vs. Sero
Average Vs. Top-Tier
Among the various characters inMy Hero Academia, Shoto Todoroki is one of thesub-protagonistsand one of the strongest heroes in the making. Being the offspring of the world’s number one hero, Endeavor, Shoto utilizes both flame and ice for a devastating combo.
With the talent and the intellect to handle himself even against top-tier villains, it was unfortunate that Shoto and Hanta Sero were placed against one another in the U.A. sports festival. While Sero does use his quirk excellently, he couldn’t land one finger on Todoroki before being encased in ice.
2Bakugo Team Vs. Team Setsuna
Bakugo Becomes A One Man Army
In the joint training battle between the U.A. classes, multiple teams were made up of all the students to increase their preparedness for the upcoming threat of Shiguraki and All for One. The training focused on how teams and individuals would deal with quirk-on-quirk combat and simultaneously adapt to multiple quirk threats. While most of the fights pushed all of the participants to learn more about their capabilities, the fourth round showed a shocking gap between Bakugo and the rest of his classmates.
Seeking to close the gap between himself and Deku, Bakugo begins training himself to be the most reliable hero and take the title of number one. His progress showed that he was able to not only overpower Team Setsuna but also keep his teammates safe while utilizing their skills. But ultimately, the round only took five minutes and made the opposing team look lackluster.
3Vigilante Deku Vs. Muscular
Vigilante Deku Overpowers His Greatest Challenge
After society crumbled after the confrontation with the League of Villains and the controversy surrounding Endeavor and his son Toya, who was suspected dead, was made public, the entire country fell into disarray. Deku was one of the last heroes standing, and he took it upon himself to right his wrong of letting Shigaraki escape, which cost so many lives. Deku grew extremely focused and decided it was safer for everyone if he went on his own.
It was clear that Deku was not the bright-eyed boy he used to be, which was made extremely apparent when he encountered his first real challenge from the past, Muscular. The last time the two clashed, the fight nearly cost Deku his life. This time around, Muscular stood no chance as Deku had begun mastering several of the quirks residing in One for All and took the menace down in the blink of an eye.
4Deku & Bakugo Vs. All Might
All Might Proves Why He Was Number One, Even Past His Prime
In Season 2, Episode 24 ofMy Hero Academia, the students of the U.A. were tested rigorously to improve their skills as the looming threat of villains grew closer. The Students of U.A. were pitted against their teacher to test not just their combat prowess but their adaptive skills and ability to judge a losing situation. Pairs were made, and one of the most unlikely duos were Bakugo and Deku.
The two could barely maintain a thread of chemistry or teamwork as they faced All Might as their challenge. Deku and Bakugo may have pulled a win out of luck, but not after being completely overpowered throughout the encounter by anAll Might past his prime.
5Lemillion Vs. Class 1A
Lemillion Makes A Big Splash
As the threat of villains becomes more common, the young heroes of Class 1A have become the focus in an effort to increase their effectiveness against whatever threat may appear. In a series of training and provisional tests, the class is also introduced to the three top-ranking heroes in the entire academy, and the most likely to take the hero world by storm after they graduate.
Among the trio is Miro Togata, better known as Lemillion, who has the ability to pass through solid matter. In an effortless show, Lemillion tested the skills of the young heroes and put them all on their backs in a single motion. Even Deku was caught off guard by Miro’s mastery of his quirk.
6Bakugo Vs. Shoto
Shoto Holds Back While Bakugo Tries To Prove Himself
The U.A. Sports Festival was filled with impactful moments. Deku raised a lot of awareness for his potential and even pushed Todoroki to grow as a person. After Deku and Todoroki had their match, it was announced that Todoroki and Bakugo would face off in the finals.
A highly anticipated match fell flat as a rekindling of his trauma caused Todoroki to falter. Bakugo was beside himself to give it his all and prove that he was better than Deku, and he tried similarly to push Todoroki to use his Firepower. Still struggling with whom he wanted to be, Todoroki did not take well to Bakugo’s style of encouragement and was overpowered. Bakugo was furious about Todoroki throwing the fight, and fans were left disappointed.
7Lemillion Vs. Shiguraki
Lemillion Is Powerless Even After Re-Obtaining His Quirk
In the most recent season ofMy Hero Academia, Shigaraki wreaks havoc across all of Japan, taking on all comers and leaving nothing but bodies in his wake. The remaining heroes of the country, as well as the students and faculty of the U.A. Academy, band together and create a massive cage to hold Shigaraki and give Deku an edge in battle. Through a series of unfortunate events, it fell to Bakugo, Jeanist, and the big three to hold off Shigaraki until Deku arrives.
Up until this point, Lemillion demonstrated incredible will and tenacity in all his encounters as one ofthe strongest heroes. Unfortunately, during the fight with Shigaraki, Lemillion was almost non-existent. Unable to apply any physical or mental pressure to the villain, Lemillion’s only avenue was to catch the culmination of All for One with a joke.
