Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s depraved comic book of the same name, Amazon Prime’sThe Boysplays host to some of the most powerful superheroes ever seen onscreen. The superpowered individuals featured on the acclaimed show possess an array of jaw-dropping abilities, from telepathy and energy manipulation all the way to full-on flight.

With these awe-inspiring abilities taking center stage, several characters fly under the radar with an array of vastly underrated powers. They might not be joiningthe Sevenany time soon, but many of the superheroes encountered by Billy Butcher’s eponymous team have manifested a catalog of Compound V-based abilities that are criminally underrated in terms of practical application.

Ryan Blakely as Mindstorm in The Boys

7Mindstorm

Telepathy

It’s hard to overstate just how powerful Mindstorm must have been in his heyday. A member of Vought’s former flagship superhero team, Payback, Ryan Blakely’s charge possessed telepathic abilities capable of subduing even the likes ofSoldier Boy; the individual once regarded as the most powerful superhero on the planet.

While the sheer scale of his terrifying powers is often overlooked given the fact that Soldier Boy ultimately caved his skull in like an angry gorilla crushing a soda can, Mindstorm’s powers were still a force to be reckoned with even after his mental state deteriorated. Weakened as he was, the superhero was able to overpower Billy Butcher by simply looking into his eyes; locking him in a comatose state where he would have spent the remainder of his days living out his worst nightmare on repeat were it not for the efforts of Hughie Campbell.

David Thompson as Gecko in The Boys

6Gecko

Limb Regeneration

Gecko might own a reputation as one ofThe Boys’weakest supesbut it’s hard to escape the fact that his power renders him functionally immune to damage. Exploiting his abilities in a side hustle as a sadomasochistic sex worker, the former Capes for Christ alum can regenerate any body part that happens to be sliced off him.

Furthermore, Annie’s childhood friend appears to be completely insusceptible to pain; Gecko is able to watch a perverted customer savagely chop his arm off using a machete with barely a flicker of perceptible emotion. Matthew Culbert’s unassuming charge might not be the most formidable individual in the world, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s exceedingly hard to damage.

Termite in The Boys

5Termite

Size Manipulation

The perpetrator of one ofThe Boys’most notoriously graphic sequences to date, Termite was able to reduce his physical size to minuscule proportions upon command. While this doesn’t sound too formidable on paper, the superhero also possessed jaw-dropping super strength; even in his tiny form, Termite was still able to toss Kimiko and Frenchie around like they were filled with helium.

The superhero’s abilities didn’t end there. Not only was he able to survive jumping from great heights in his shrunken state, Termite was essentially able to turn himself into a miniature bomb by crawling inside people and reverting to normal size; blowing them into bloody smithereens as he did so. Regrettably for Termite, his considerable powers ultimately proved to be his downfall whenHomelanderreduced him to a bloody smear on the floor after accidentally landing on him.

The Boys Popclaw

4Popclaw

Retractable Claws

There are plenty worse superpowers to have than a set of retractable claws; just ask a certain bad-tempered gentleman named Wolverine. Not only wasA-Train’slate flame Popclaw capable of slashing her enemies to pieces with her razor-sharp appendages, but she also possessed super strength, rendering her a notably dangerous individual by anybody’s standards.

Sadly, Popclaw didn’t really get much of an opportunity to flex her considerable superpowers besides reducing her unfortunate landlord’s skull to a bloody mess during a sex act gone wrong. Her role in proceedings didn’t advance far beyond the Boys blackmailing her for information on Compound V, meaning that her underrated set of superpowers often fly under the fanbase’s radar.

Sister Sage laying on couch

3Sister Sage

Superhuman Intelligence

Somewhat ironically, part and parcel of being the most intelligent person in the world is being continuously underestimated.Sister Sageis smart enough to topple governments and cure cancer, but her lack of traditional superpowers means that her jaw-dropping abilities are never given the respect that they deserve.

Sage isn’t a physically formidable individual in the slightest, but she doesn’t need to be. Susan Heyward’s Season 4 arrival is always ten steps ahead of her opposition, thinking of their next move before the idea even begins to formulate in their heads. The Boys have never been in as dire a situation as they find themselves in by the end of the show’s latest season; a status quo that would never have been possible without Sage’s efforts.

Kenji Miyashiro

2Kenji Miyashiro

Telekinesis

While Aya Cash’s Stormfrontmade mincemeat out of himin fairly short order, special mention has to be given to Kenji Miyashiro’s powers of telekinesis. There aren’t many supes capable of temporarily burying the virtually omnipotent Homelander in the bowels of the earth, but Kimiko’s late brother made it look like child’s play.

Branded by the American media as “The Super Terrorist”, the former member of the Shining Light Liberation Army also demonstrated his terrifying strength by flipping an enormous harbor boat over and flinging a police helicopter away with less effort than a toddler hurling a stuffed toy. Regrettably for Kenji, his relatively short time on the show means that his formidable superpowers are often overlooked.

Crimson Countess Cropped

1Crimson Countess

Fireball Generation

Given that the Boys eventually subdued her without a great deal of effort, Crimson Countess' powers are often overlooked. Soldier Boy’s former flame and a founding member of the superhero team Payback, Laurie Holden’s charge owned the ability to generate explosive fireballs on command by touching her hands together.

Before her former beau incinerated her with a radioactive blast, Countess' unassuming build meant that her sheer levels of explosive power likely came as a shock to many viewers. Her fireballs were capable of blasting her enemies - or Voughtland mascots unfortunate enough to get in her way - into bloody piles of viscera, a superpower that she used to help subdue Soldier Boy during the ill-fatedOperation Charly.
