Mualani is a burst-type character who needs to stack as much DMG as possible in a short period to let it all go in one hit. She mostlydeals that burst DMG through her Elemental Burstand Shark Bite. However, there are a few important notes to take before building Mualani inGenshin Impact.
First, Mualani’s hits scale with her max HP, which means giving her anHP% Timepieceis a must. She also inflicts a great amount of Hydro DMG, especially if she triggers Crit hits, which prioritizebuilding Mualani on Vaporize reactionson top of giving herHydro and Crit DMG on Goblet and Circlet respectively.
The best artifacts for Mualani inGenshin Impactare the4pc of Obsidian Codexsince they increase her DMG while she’s on her Nightsoul Blessing during her Elemental Skill time. On top of that, Obsidian Codex grants Mualani a whopping 40% Crit Rate, which is insane for her build. There’s no doubt thatSurf’s Up is the best Catalyst for MualaniinGenshin Impact. As her Signature weapon, Surf’s Up grants Mualani a great amount of Crit DMG while buffing her HP% and Normal Attack DMG.
Since Mualani gets a 40% Crit Rate from herartifacts inGenshin Impact, finding her weapons that increase her Crit DMG is necessary. 5-star Catalysts likeTome of the Eternal Flowor 4-starThe Widsithare perfect as stat sticks even if Mualani didn’t fully benefit from their passives.Sacrificial Jadegrants her a huge amount of Crit Rate, which is unnecessary unless you’re not building Mualani with Obsidian Codex.
Since the 4-star Crit Catalysts are limited, you can choose those with HP% as a Secondary Stat, likeRing of YaxcheandAsh-Graven Drinking Horn. Both weapons increase Mualani’s HP% by 41% while having a passive that scales well with her Max HP. You can also go withMappa MareandPrototype Amberas decent 4-star alternatives. Prototype Amber has HP% as a Secondary Stat while it regenerates Mualani’s Energy and offers her team a slight amount of healing.
