Midoriya Izuku, or Deku, has trained his body to make One For All his own inMy Hero Academia. As the crux of the battle is reaching its end, the vestiges in One For All have come up with a plan that will surely end All For One, however, with Deku’s dream of being a Hero at stake.
Deku, however, takes it in stride to defeat All For One and attempts to save Shigaraki’s heart. The result of this action will leave Deku with embers of the Quirk that was once known as One For All. However, that is not where the story ends for Deku; find out what happens to him after the Final War.
What happens to Deku after the Final War?
Deku loses the power of One For All but still retains some embers
As the end of the Final War approaches, Deku inserts thepower of One For All into All For Oneto begin the attack from within his consciousness. TheAmerican Hero, Star and Strip’sQuirk, New Order, found a small crack, likely from her previous rampage. However, transferring the Quirk would mean giving All For One precisely what he wants. To combat this, Deku would need to forcefully transfer his Quirk to All For One, which would cause internal and external damage to him.
As Deku began to insert One For All into All For One,Shigaraki and Deku’s memories began to merge. Once Deku inserted the final vestige into Shigaraki, he once again became Quirkless and lost both arms in the process, as seen in Chapter 419. However, thanks toEri’s help and quick thinking, Deku could rewind time and regain his arms by using a small piece of her horn. However, the rewind process was much slower due to the low energy stored within it.
Although Deku hastransferred One For Allto All For One, he still hassome embers remaining from the Quirk. After the third-year students graduated from UA High School, and Deku and his classmates became second years, Deku still had a few embers of his Quirk remaining. However, a prolonged or massive burst of use of the Quirk would diminish the flame further.
Unfortunately, in Chapter 429, Deku uses a large burst of powerto find Uraraka Ochaco, which further diminishes the flame. In Chapter 430, we see a montage of the years passing by, up until Deku’s class passes UA High School. The embers of One For All likely lasted until the end of high school when it finally vanished, and Midoriya Izuku is once again Quirkless.
What is Deku’s life like after losing One For All?
After graduating from UA High School, Deku became a teacher
In Chapter 430, after Deku loses One For All, eight years pass after he graduates from UA. However,Deku has always had incredible intellectand thus has become a teacher at UAHigh School alongside Aizawa Shouta, although Aizawa wishes Deku would be stricter with his students.
Like many others who have grown up and become adults, it has gotten harder for Deku and his previous classmates to meet up. However, this is due to being unable to get days off that coincide with one another. Although Deku no longer has a Quirk, his body still reacts to those in need. While he may not possess a Quirk, he still encourages and motivates those who want to become heroes. Giving others the same encouragement he received from All Might when he first received One For All.
While many would think Deku is satisfied with his life after coming so far, he admits in Chapter 430 that he feels a bit lonely. Although encouraging others to do their best and become heroes gives him some fulfillment, he likely feels he is missing something. However, this is not theend of the story for Midoriya Izuku.

Deku soon meets All Might at UA High School, and All Might confesses he has a gift for Deku. Unbeknownst to Deku, Class A and Bakugo Katsuki have funded a super-suit with Bakugo at the heart of it. As technology has continued to evolve over eight years, although Quirkless,Deku will now has another chance to become a Heroonce more alongside Class A. Previously, Bakugo had felt some guilt about Deku becoming Quirkless again, as he confesses his true feelings in Chapter 424 as he cries.
Bakugo believed that after the Final War, he and Deku would continue to compete for the top spot. However, as Deku continued to use One For All, the ember would slowly fade. However, thanks to this new technology, it is finally Bakugo’s turn to hold out his hand for Izuku to take, once again saving the world as Heroes.
