Wednesdayseason will hopefully be scary, free from plot holes. andfeature a lot more of Nevermore Academy. The boarding school that Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) attends on theNetflixseries is one of the best TV schools. Since it’s a place for characters who don’t fit in anywhere else, it’s automatically compelling and unforgettable. But while the main character spends most of her time there sneaking around trying to findthe Hyde Monster, there is a lot more that could be done with this memorable setting. Fans are also excited to see what the school will look like now that season 2 has been filmed in Ireland.
SinceWednesdayseason 1 featured a canoe race and school dance,Wednesdayseason 2 should highlight more Nevermore traditions. This would add flavor to the story and also verify the season is light-hearted enough.
What Nevermore Academy Traditions Should Be In Wednesday Season 2?
Wednesdayseason 2 could feature a few different Nevermore traditions, such asholiday dinners at the dining hall, a Halloween costume contest, and a fancy ball with a raffle. While there is an annual school dance and a canoe race, there must be some other traditions that the main and minor characters enjoy. Even the characters who don’t seem to like joining in have fun at Nevermore.
These extracurricular activities would each provide the opportunity for some funny and spooky scenes. It would be fun to see what kind of food Nevermore serves since this is such a big part ofHogwarts, the dining hall in theHarry Potterfranchise. It would also seem natural forWednesdayseason 2 to feature a Halloween activity given Wednesday’s Goth appearance. Finally, a raffle would be hilarious since Wednesday could plant some dark objects that would upset the teachers.
It would also be fun ifWednesdayseason 2 featuredthe characters decorating their dorm rooms in a contest. The different cliques at Nevermoreseem competitive, so this would work well. Fans enjoyed seeing Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) and Wednesday’s opposite decorating styles in the first season, and if they can share a room again, it would be cool to lean into this setting more. This could also be an opportunity to add moreAddams Family Easter eggs, especially on Wednesday’s side of the room.
Mark Scruton, the production designer on the Netflix series, spoke toAwards Dailyabout this set piece. Scruton said:
“Wednesday’s side is so specific, and everything we got in there was agonized over, painted, and treated. Normally, when you are dressing, you have these trestle tables with all the props on it, and you bring them into the space to work through it all. Wednesday’s side had one table, and Enid’s side had about thirty tables going off into the distance with mountains of stuff."
No matter what Nevermore traditions are featured inWednesdayseason 2, fans can expect Wednesday Addams to stay true to herself sinceJenna Ortega is a producer. The actress is confident about what her character should be doing and saying and viewers are intrigued by how her producer credit could positively affect the show. Whatever activities are included, they will likely feel like something Wednesday would like to participate in… or they’ll at least be something she can poke fun at.
What Were The Best Nevermore Traditions In Wednesday Season 1?
Wednesdayseason 1 features a few traditions at Nevermore, butthe school dance is arguably the best and most exciting one.Wednesdayseason 2 should have another viral scenesince the dance was such a fun focal point for viewers. The dance is called The Rave’Nand takes place in season 1, episode 4, “Woe What a Night.” The characters definitely enjoy attending it every year. While there are four cliques and different species at Nevermore, the student body comes together at certain times. It’s nice for everyone to forget their worries and rivalries and just enjoy being teenagers for a single night. Even Wednesday gets into her school’s spirit and has fun dancing, which fans didn’t think would happen at all.
According toTeen Vogue, Jenna Ortega made a funny video joking about how she was tired of the dance scene fromWednesday. She said:
“Honestly, this is really well-written, I just don’t feel like I want to do theWednesdaydance for promo since we’ve seen so much of that already. I think it’s time to do something new.”
While fans debateif Wednesday could beevil in the second season of the Netflix show, it seems likely that at least one new Nevermore tradition will be introduced, and this will be entertaining and fun to see.
