Summary
WhenWednesdayseason 2 returns toNetflixin 2025, fans are excited to see where Jenna Ortega’s Goth character Wednesday Addams’s story goes next. Since Wednesday was so well-developed in season 1, it’ll be interesting to see how many more layers are added in the new episodes. It’ll also be fun to see how the new characters are integrated into the Nevermore setting.
But even though it’s exciting to learn about the new faces on the hit Netflix series, fans want some season 1 characters to come back forWednesdayseason 2. Along with theproblems that season 2 has to solve, viewers think that there are still some stories that could be told about these characters. Whether main or side characters, they left an impression and were a big part of Wednesday’s world.
Wednesday Season 2 Fans Wish These Characters Would Return
In aReddit thread, fans talked about theWednesdayseason 2 characters they want to see again. Unfortunately, these characters aren’t returning for the second season, but viewers think there is still room for them on the show.
Redditor @Ok_Art_8866would love to see Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci) inWednesdayseason 2. The fan wrote:
“Various characters were cut from Season 2 of the show; personally, I’m most sad about Laurel. I know her storyline was pretty much over but I just loved her so much and will miss her.”
Laurel likely isn’t coming back toWednesdayseason 2 because she was discovered as the main villain of the first season and the new episodes will focus on Wednesday’s stalker. It would be dull to focus on the same enemy for a second season in a row. But since she was a fascinating and mysterious character, it’s no wonder that some fans wish that there was still a place for her on the popular series. IfWednesdayseason 2 has a scarier tonethan the first season, thenit would be fun to see two villains. It’s still possible for there to be more than one person (or creature) who is making Wednesday’s life miserable, but Laurel seems to be gone for good.
SeveralWednesdayfans want to see Yoko Tanaka (Naomi J. Ogawa) and Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) come back. While it’s not possible for Weems to come back since she dies at the end ofWednesdayseason 2, unless she returned as a ghost, it would have made sense for Yoko to still be a studentWednesday’s eerie boarding school Nevermore Academyagain. It would be cool toexplore Yoko’s vampire life more inWednesdayseason 2, especially ifWednesdaycan develop Enid Sinclair (Emma Meyers) more. Yoko and Enid could bond along with Wednesday, which would be interesting since they have such different personalities. Since Yoko isn’t coming back, though, it seems likely that other Nevermore students will be the focal point, and hopefully they will be just as compelling. One Redditor wrote about Yoko:
“I really wanted to know more about her, and vampires are always my faves.”
Redditor @Kunekeda thinks that another character would still be interesting to watch inWednesdayseason 2. The fan wrote:
“I’ll say Lucas Walker. Hear me out, I think it’d be good to have a Normie ally who can offer a different perspective and help the Outcasts by doing things and going places they can’t.”
Lucas Walker (Iman Marson) doesn’t have a big role inWednesdayseason 1, but he made an impression. Wednesday meets him because his family runs Pilgrim World and he works there, too. While there will definitely be other characters with brief arcs inWednesdayseason 2, it would be great to see more of Lucas.
Which New Characters Will Appear In Wednesday Season 2?
There are several new characters inWednesdayseason 2,including Grandmama (Joanna Lumley), Dr. Fairburn (Thandiwe Newton), Capri (Billie Piper), and Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi). Since there aren’t any details about who these characters are or what role they play in Wednesday’s life, fans are curious about what’s going to happen next.
While returning characters likeTyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) need compelling storylines, it’s interesting to imagine what the new characters could be like. Chances are that Wednesday won’t get along with most of them, given her prickly and strong-willed personality, but that will just make the scenes funnier and more engaging to watch.
Eventhe actors want to know more about the villains inWednesdayseason 2. Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, and Hunter Doohan gave an interview toNetflix.tudum.comand shared the creatures they would love to see next season. Doohan said:
“I want to see a centaur in Season 2!”
Although fans don’t know which creatures could appear inWednesdayseason 2, or who the main villain will be, watching Jenna Ortega’s character save the day will definitely be entertaining.
