Summary
OneNo Man’s Skyplayer stumbled upon a monochrome Crimson planet where the only color that appears is red. There are a variety of unique planets in the space exploration title, including all water or paradise planets. No Man’s Skyhas thousands of planets located in hundreds of systems for players to explore.
Unusual planets are not that uncommon for the game. Recently, players have discovered aReddit planet inNo Man’s Sky, as well as an Earth-like planet. Other planets have changing colors, shifting rainbow patterns, or floating islands. Some planets can be completely devoid of life or resources, while others are lush and vibrant. Exploring while heading to the center of the universe can lead to exciting discoveries.
While theNo Man’s SkyWorlds Part 1 updaterefreshed some of the planetary archetypes, it didn’t affect the appearance of monochrome planets. These planets are black and white, except for the single color that appears in their description. Reddit user Someweirdbanana found a Crimson Planet and posted their discovery on the r/NoMansSkyTheGame subreddit. The accompanying image shows how it looks to explore the planet, including a colorless Traveler. Other posters stated the planet should be namedSin Citydue to the similar color scheme.
A Crimson Monochrome Planet Has Been Discovered in No Man’s Sky
Other Reddit users mentioned a blue monochrome planet that can be found. With the description of “Storms of Unfathomable Blue”, players can expect only blue resources to be colored. It’s also noted that when storms do occur, regular coloring returns to the world while it’s ongoing. As soon as thestorm passes inNo Man’s Sky, the monochrome design sets back in. Additional monochrome planets for other primary and secondary colors are said to exist.
Some commentors noted that this can become disorienting when depending on colored indicators for navigation. The ship icon is typically green, disappearing on these planets that don’t highlight that color. For those with colorblindness, it may cause issues due to changes in their color settings for accessibility. Overall, with all parts of the world colored the same in those situations, it’s better to tell objects apart by shape and size versus color.
Worlds Part 2 forNo Man’s Skyis still in the works with no details on what’s included confirmed. Since planets were already adjusted, as well as flora and fauna, ships and star systems could be the main focus of the second part of the overhaul. With Gamescom 2024 coming up, information on the patch may be revealed during the showcase.
