Dredge, the hit indie game that was widely regarded as among the best launches of 2023, has received a steep discount on the PlayStation Store, bringing the title’s price down to its lowest point yet. While it usually carries a $24.99 price tag,Dredgeis currently $14.99 on the PlayStation Storethanks to a hefty 40% discount that lasts until September 4. This is the cheapest the game has ever been on any retailer.Dredge’s lowest recorded US price on Steam, a platform known for giving generousdiscounts to other award-winning games, was $16.24,data provided by SteamDB showed.

Dredgewas only one of many titles that received discounts on the PlayStation Store as part of a sale centered around indie games. Other popular releases like the comfy farm simulatorStardew Valleyand the vampire survival gameV Risingthat was ported to the Sony PlayStation 5in June were also given significant price cuts. Bundles, expansions, and premium currencies for featured indie games are part of the sale as well.

The Iron RigDLC forDredgewas released alongside the game’s 1.5.1 update that went live on August 15. It is the title’s second expansion, adding a host of new content such as a new buildable destination, side story, equipment, achievements, and more than 50 types of fish, among other things. The 1.5.1 update forDredgeaddressed several issues, including one that caused save files to become overwritten if the game failed to load them properly. This latest build made various other changes as well.

Dredgeis being developed by Black Salt Games, a studio based in New Zealand. The team was recently featured in a documentary produced by media company Noclip, which has covered other developers like Bethesda Game Studios, CD Projekt Red, and Valve in the past. A live-action film adaptation ofDredgeis currently being produced by Story Kitchen.
