With over 1000 episodes and chapters, theOne Pieceseries has portrayed some very intriguing battles of varying intensities. Some arcs portray few but important battles, while others portray as many battles as needed. Arcs like the ongoing Egghead Island arc and the Marineford arc are notoriously known for spawning battle after battle.
Interestingly, even with various battles, it seems the stakes only get higher and higher. As these arcs move from one great battle to another, fans are unable to look away, hooked by the relentless action and the ever-increasing tension. The sheer consistency of high-quality battles in these arcs keeps fans on the edge of their seats, making them some ofthe most memorable arcsin the entire series.
7Alabasta Arc
Straw Hats Vs. Baroque Works
This arc featured Luffy’s first real struggle against a major villain. Battling Crocodile came with such losses that fans of the series are convinced Luffy’s final win against Crocodile was simply plot armor and not his skills. As Luffy stacked up losses against Crocodile, the rest of his crew members fought Crocodile’s criminal organization, Baroque Works.
The many battles in Alabasta aren’t just a show of strength but one of strategy and self-growth.To defeat Mr. 1, Zorohad to unlock a new level of skill and was finally able to cut through steel. Meanwhile, Nami and the rest of the crew utilized their unique fighting styles against adversaries all while the Kingdom of Alabasta was on the brink of collapse.
6Dressrosa Arc
Straw Hats And Heart Pirates Battle To Topple An Empire
For fans of theOne Pieceseries, the Dressrosa archas become a trigger for remembering the name Donquixote Doflamingo. With the introduction of Gear Fourth, fans got to see Luffy against Doflamingo in an epic clash. While stunning, the Dressrosa arc isn’t remembered only for Luffy’s battles but for Zoro’s great act of slicing an island-sized Pica.
Other battles, such as Law vs. Doflamingo, Kyros vs. Diamante, battles in the Corrida Colosseum, and notably Sabo vs. Fujitora, left fans reeling in excitement and wanting more. In an alliance with the Heart Pirates, the Straw Hat Pirates fought against the Donquixote family to take back Ace’s devil fruit and free Dressrosa from their reign.
5Marineford Arc
An All-Encompassing War
The Marineford arc of theOne Pieceseries is undoubtedly one of the best arcs, and for good reason. In terms of high-tension battles, Marineford had a lot. The war between the Navy and the Whitebeard Pirates was such a major matter that all the big names in the world were interested.
With battles such as Whitebeard vs. Akainu, Luffy vs. Mihawk, and Marco vs. multiple Navy Admirals, fans got to see various abilities on display even if some were merely a sneak peek. With Navy Admirals, Warlords, and even Emperors of the Sea involved, the hype involved as fans moved from battle to battle is one of the reasonsthe Marineford arcis greatly respected.
4Wano Country Arc
The Fall Of A Yonko Requires Many Battles
Luffy vs. Kaido, Law and Kid vs. Big Mom, Zoro vs. King, Sanji vs. Queen—these are the battles that make the Wano Country arc such a good one. With great battles left, right, and center, the Wano Country series has cemented itself as one ofOne Piece’sbest arcs. Apart from the many battles that occur in the arc, the progression of theOne Piecestory and the amazing animation is unlike anything prior.
Many may perceive the Marineford arc to have a better overall story, but in terms of hyped-up battles and animation, Wano serves as one of the series' best to date. To top it off,the Wano Country arcportrays the defeat of not one but two Emperors of the Sea, and both battles were portrayed, not left for fans to imagine.
Simultaneous Era-Changing Battles
While the Egghead Island arc is coming to an end in the manga, anime-only fans are just beginning to get into the heat of it. Like Wano, the Egghead Island arc has a lot of important battles; however, unlike Wano, these battles happen simultaneously between various groups of people and not one or more groups/alliances vs. others.
As Law faces Blackbeard, Garp faces Aokiji,Luffy faces the five elders, and Shanks faces Captain Kid. Regardless of who wins each of these battles, as they involve major characters, the world ofOne Pieceis sure to be in an uproar, and fans of the series are here for it.
2Enies Lobby Arc
Straw Hats Vs. CP9
The destruction of Ohara and Nico Robin’s backstory is one ofOne Piece’smost prominent story threads. Initially, Robin thought she had let go of her past; however, it came back for her and enveloped her crew in its wake. Interestingly, that birthed the many dastardly battles and heartfelt moments that comprise the Enies Lobby arc.
One of the many things that makes Enies Lobby a great arc is that that was one of the earliest moments in whichthe Straw Hat crewproved themselves. Various crew members evolved in terms of abilities, and by combining experience, power, and skill in what culminated as Gear Second, Luffy gave Rob Lucci a run for his money.
1Sabaody Arc
The Worst Generation Is Almost Wiped Out
Luffy punching a celestial dragon during the Sabaody Archipelago arc remains a legendary moment in the entirety of theOne Pieceseries. Moreover, with the introduction of the Worst Generation being pitted against an admiral and the introduction of Dark King Rayleigh, the Pirate King’s first mate, the Straw Hats' journey on the Sabaody Archipelago island kicked off with a lot of adventure.
However, soon enough, their many battles came to be unfavorable. Whether it be against Admiral Kizaru, Sentomaru, or the Pacifista, the Straw Hats were vastly outclassed. Particularly by subverting the usual trope of Luffy winning against his adversaries, the battles in this arc are truly memorable.
