This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Wano Arc.
The cook of the Strawhat Pirates, Sanji is an individual who plays a very special role inOne Piece. Not only is he a cook, but he is also a fighter and one ofthe main combatants of the Strawhat Pirates. Sanji is a figure known to be one of the Wings of the Pirate King, and this makes him very important to help Luffy soar and conquer the seas.
Sanji’s cooking is unmatched, but at the same time, his strength is subliminal as well. Not many individuals in theOne Pieceworld can rival him, and he is feared all over the oceans. Over the years, Sanji has acquired great infamy and made quite a name for himself, which has also earned him the moniker of Black Leg. Sanji has received many bounties, with his current one establishing him as an elite pirate in the New World.
477 Million Berries
Sanji Beat Jabra And Orchestrated The Escape
Sanji did not receive a bounty inOne Pieceuntil after the events of Enies Lobby, and that is quite curious. In fact, this was a shock tothe members of the CP9during the arc, where Sanji, after nearly breaking through Blueno’s Tekkai, drew praise from Kaku, who suggested that despite not having a bounty, he was among the strongest individuals in the crew.
Sanji did not have a bounty, because, unlike Luffy and Zoro, he did not have previous recognition. Most of his missions were covert, and his strength was only brought to light after Luffy and the crew defeated the CP9. Sanji’s first bounty was 77 million berries, which is incredibly high. In fact, when compared to that of Luffy and Zoro, it was sensational in many ways. Zoro’s first bounty placed him at 60 million berries, while Sanji’s first bounty was 77 million berries, which was significantly higher. If anything, Sanji should have received an even higher bounty after the events of Enies Lobby, because defeating Jabra wasn’t hard for him at all and he could continue fighting later down the line as well.
3177 Million Berries
Sanji Returned Stronger Than Ever Before
Sanji’s bounty in pre timeskip of One Piece remained at 77 million berries. After the crew returned, Luffy was the only individual who had seen his bounty increase, with his reward shooting from 300 to 400 million berries. Sanji and the other crew members got an increase in the Dressrosa Arc. For Sanji, the Dressrosa arc bounty increase was not significant.
This was because Sanji did not spend much time on the island, as the pirates split up. Sanji went to Zou, butfor his short involvement in Dressrosa, he received a 100 million increase. This wasn’t the highest or the most impressive bounty that he had received, but it was one that fans knew would set the base for even higher bounties later down the line.
2330 Million Berries
Sanji Played A Role In Stopping Big Mom
Sanji is one of the few membersof the Strawhat Piratesto have an incredibly emotional and well-thought-out story attached to his name. In fact, Sanji is the only Strawhat to have two story arcs written by Oda, and in the post-time skip, this arc was Whole Cake Island. This was a love letter from the Strawhats to Sanji, and it only added more depth to his already incredible character. In this arc, Sanji did not have many fighting opportunities, but he did have moments to showcase what he’s capable of here and there.
Regardless, he ended up getting an incredibly high bounty after these events, pushing his reward to 330 million berries, which was, at the time, 10 million higher than that of Zoro, making him the second most wanted Straw Hat Pirate until the events of Wano.
11.032 Billion Berries
Sanji Defeated Queen And Saved Momo
Sanji’s latest bounty was assigned to him after the events of the Wano Arc. In this arc, Sanji played a significant role, and it can be said that after Luffy, he was the Strawhat who shined the most, especially when it comes to character writing. Oda has his fun writing Sanji in the most exciting and emotional ways, and that truly is the strength of this character. In terms of combat,Sanji was an absolute monster on Onigashima, where not only did he save the future of Wano by rescuing Momonosuke, but he also fought an absolutely dismantled Queen the Plague, and this came on top of him already being injured beyond belief.
Sanji’s new powers, which awakened during this arc, put him on an entirely new level. After he defeated Queen with minimal effort,Sanji, naturally, received a very high bounty. His overall reward was pushed to 1.032 billion berries, which, if anything, doesn’t even portray his true worth to the crew.
