Summary

Cross Guild is one of the new emerging pirate threats inOne Piece. While their exact role in the final saga, as well as whether they will directly take on the Straw Hats, remains to be seen, they are now considered one of the four pirate crews, whose captain has the distinction of “Emperor.” They are considered a significant threat to the World Government, as a mercenary guild who has the power to putbounties on members of the Marines. This crew originated as Crocodile’s idea, and he then contacted Dracule Mihawk, the world’s strongest swordsman, to aid him in the creation of it. He also notified Buggy of the debt he incurred towards him, which he needed back to aid in funding.

.

Buggy instead offered to do free advertising, which his overzealous crewmates used to make him the group’s leader, despite his weakness. As a result, his own mercenary group, Buggy’s Delivery, was absorbed into the Cross Guild, and he was made its figurehead. This motley crew is made up of many previous antagonists, who were already considered threats in their own right. There isheavy speculation on which other notable pirates, if any will add their might to the growing organization. However, even in the extremely unlikely event that no more pirates add their power to Cross Guild, those within it currently have fairly powerful Devil Fruits. Although some members, such as Dracule Mihawk, don’t have Devil Fruits to their name, many of their most notable members thus far are confirmed to have eaten one

5Bara Bara no Mi

Buggy’s Devil Fruit

TheBara Bara no Miis one of the earliest Devil Fruits seen in action, seeing as Buggy was the first of Luffy’s foes to have consumed a Devil Fruit. Although a young Buggy wished to sell it rather than consume it, he has been granted immunity from any sort of damage from a cut or piece thanks to this Devil Fruit’s power. Instead, the dismembered body parts remain under his control, provided he is in close enough proximity to them. This can be effective for combat, espionage, and a variety of actions in which a full body would hinder progress. He is notably able to survive with a variety of his limbs detached, and even reform after being cut down to paper-thin slits. He can also turn himself into a car if two pairs of rotating wheels are present.

Since becoming a Warlord, and subsequently an Emperor, he has also used the Devil Fruit to falsely build up his height, an excellent metaphor for the hype he’s amassed in contrast to his lack of strength. Nonetheless, if Buggy does ever get challenged, this Devil Fruit will likely aid him in most endeavors.

4Sube Sube no Mi

Alvida’s Devil Fruit

The Sube Sube no Mi was eaten by Luffy’s first enemy, “Iron Mace” Alvida, sometime after their battle. It selectively allows the majority of solid objects to slip off her person, such as excess fat, freckles, and most damaging solid objects. However, other items like her clothes, shoes, and the iron mace of her moniker remain intact for the most part. It notably altered her appearance significantly enough that Luffy did not recognize her, even after she told him who she was.

It is not exactly clear how anyone can damage Alvida, outside the usage ofseastone or a sufficient amount of water, both of which render Devil Fruit powers null and void. However, if she gets more involved with the Cross Guild’s continued activities, the limits of this Devil Fruit could be understood more in-depth.

3Doru Doru no Mi

Galdino’s Devil Fruit

The Doru Doru no Mi’s abilities were first shown in depth during the Little Garden Arc. It has been consistently shown that his intellect is key in making the power of “wax” a viable swiss army knife of a power. Galdino, then operating under the alias, Mr. 3as a member of Baroque Works, showed the wax from his Devil Fruit powers could be used both to restrain and possibly even kill enemies, as well as become a variety of mechanisms for him, including a fort or a gigantic suit.

He notably was capable of nearly killing Nami, Zoro, and Vivi. However, he had to ambush them for this plan to even succeed to the extent that it did. Although he was defeated by Usopp and Luffy, he showed a level of strategic acumen in taking them on. Galdino was once again seen in Impel Down, where he used his wax as both a barrier and a skeleton key, both of which were essential in helping the prison break succeed. His abilities may continue to prove handy during his tenure as a member of Cross Guild.

2Supa Supa no Mi

Daz Bonez' Devil Fruit

The Supa Supa no Mi allow’s the user’s body to gain the characteristics of a steel blade. Because of this, Daz Bonez was able to go toe to toe with Zoro. His steely body also allows him some level of defense, but he can still be hurt by anything which could damage steel. One of his toughest attacks is spiral hollow, where Daz creates round blades on his forearms, which he spins, giving them a drill-like quality.

Despite his usage of blades, Daz is first and foremost a martial arts, and does not consider himself a “swordsman.” Nonetheless, his blades could prove a sharp asset for Cross Guild, especially if he has learned how to use haki, like his boss, Crocodile.

1Suna Suna no Mi

Crocodile’s Devil Fruit

The sole Logia currently in Cross Guild, the Suna Suna no Mi allows its user to become, control, and create sand. This is used bythe mastermind, Crocodileto dodge attacks and absorb moisture, in addition to directly attacking his foes. He is almost invincible in a sandy environment, such as that of Alabasta, due to the vast array of sand surrounding him.

In addition to standard weaknesses, this Devil Fruit is especially vulnerable to many liquids, such as blood. Luffy notably bolstered his attacks by coating himself in his own blood, which made them able to touch and damage Crocodile’s sandy body, even without haki. The true founder of Cross Guild will most certainly continue to see action as the series develops, as will his Devil Fruit.
