One Piecehas officially wrapped up the Egghead Island Arc, and fans know that the story is going to head in a more exciting direction now, as one of the biggest and most anticipating arcs is now coming up, which fans know to be Elbaf. Elbaf is the land of the Giants, and an island that was first mentioned in theOne Piecelong before the timeskip. In fact, Elbaf was actually mentioned in the story even before Wano, which means that Oda actually set upOne Pieceto cover this part of the story decades ago.
Now, finally, Oda has his opportunity to cover Elbaf in full, and explore the themes surrounding norse mythology, and much more. One particular character that fans know will be especially important in the Elbaf Arc of One Piece is the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates who has always found a deep connection with this sacred land.
Usopp’s Obsession With Elbaf
When the Straw Hat Pirates arrived on Elbaf, there were many characters that Oda focused on extensively, but few got as much attention as Usopp. Usopp did not have any major fight on the island, or, a heroic moment. But, what he did have, however, is an inception. A dream took root deep inside of Usopp in this arc, and he finally found a purpose to sail the seas as that was bigger than just wanting to be like his father. Usopp decided that he wanted to be like the Giants of Elbaf and that is the kind of brave warrior that he would want to be in the future. He looked at the Giants of Elbaf and saw something he aspired to be. Everything about the Elbaf culture rang true to his soul, and he decided that he would one day want to visit the land of Elbaf and become a Brave Warrior like the Giants there. The Giants of Elbaf are incredibly prideful. Oftentimes, Usopp is not. In many ways, the joints of Elbaf are the exact opposite of Usopp, but that is exactly why this arc is so important for him. He is going to have major moments in the Elbaf arc and that goes without saying.

Usopp might not look like it, but he does have his own way of life. He wants to be brave, and he wants to be someone with immense pride, and this resonates with not just him, but a lot of fans reading One Piece as well. Just like Usopp, most individuals are just average people who do not come from positions of privilege. Yet, a dream can change a person for good, and that is exactly what Oda is trying to represent with Usopp. The fact that Usopp was one of the first people to react whenthe news of Dorry and Brogy coming to Eggheadis proof of the fact that Oda is aware of Usopp’s importance to the upcoming arc and that he wants to give special attention to him there.
How Usopp Can Grow In Elbaf
Usopp Is Bound To Get Many Power-Ups And Grow As A Character
Usopp’s growth in Elbaf is going to be multifaceted. There isn’t just a single aspect of character that he’s going to grow in, and if he is going to be as important as fans expect, then,Usopp will most likely take many things from this islandwhen he does leave with the rest of his crew.
Character Growth For Usopp Is Imminent
The most important thing for Usopp on the island of Elbaf is character growth. Usopp wants to become a brave warrior, and this might just be the very first dream that any Strawhat goes on to fulfill in the story. Elbaf is Usopp’s Arc, and this is the land of the prideful and brave Giants. Usopp could end up becoming like them in this arc and this would mark true character growth for him.
Of course, that certainly doesn’t mean that Usopp’s whimsical character, who is always afraid, is going to get completely erased. That part of Usopp’s character is always going to be there because there are stronger enemies to face inOne Piece. But, as a character, Usopp is going to accomplish a lot in this arc, just as he did in Enies Lobby, along with many other arcs and One Piece.

Haki Growth Will See Usopp Get Stronger
While character growth is the most important thing for Usopp to undergo in the Elbaf Arc, there are also more things that he needs to focus on. For instance, Usopp is among the weakest members of the Strawhat Pirates, and despite having a 500 million berry bounty, everyone knows that he doesn’t deserve this figure at all. That is something that he needs to work on and become worthy of the bounty that is officially placed on his head. Usopp needs to improve as a sniper, as his growth certainly has stagnated over the years. He needs to learn the ways of Haki even better. In Dressrosa, he awakened the power of Observation Haki, but much to the dismay of fans, he has hardly ever tapped into this power ever since.
Now is the time for him to not only improve in this aspect of Haki, but awaken others as well. For instance, gaining Armament Haki, among other things,is absolutely essential for Usopp to grow strongerand be able to compete with the rest of the snipers inOne Piece.This is growth that he could possibly go through in the upcoming arc of the story, and, if fans are lucky enough, they could even get to see Usopp gaining the power of Conqueror’s Haki in this part of the story.
Usopp Will Finally Become A Brave Warrior Of The Sea
Usopp Is Set To Accomplish His Dream In Elbaf
It is safe to say thatElbaf is going to be the biggest arc for Usoppin the story. In fact, he will likely not be given the same level of attention in the remaining story, which makes it doubly special for him. Not only will Usopp become a true warrior and learn how he can grow even further in terms of Haki, but he will also likely fulfill his ultimate dream. For Usopp, this is where the journey will dramatically change.
On top of everything, he could also potentially meet his father in this arc. This is simply down to the fact that Elbaf Is the arc where Shanks is going to meet with Luffy, which means that Yasopp will have to face off against his son. One of Usopp’s biggest inspirations was his very own father, and here, he will accomplish this goal of his as well.Everything points towards Elbaf being the biggest arc for him, no matter which way fans look at it, and he will emerge from this arc like a transformed phoenix. He will still hold true to his core values, but in the grand scheme of things, he will become a reliable person, the likes of which have never been seen before in the story.
