Summary

An artistically talentedPokemonfan is receiving plenty of attention online after posting their impressive dual-type Eevee Evolution concept art. The creative artwork, which blends together various elements of an Electric-type and a Dragon-type, is catching the eyes of numerous fellowPokemonenthusiasts.

Eevee has remained one of the most popular Pokemon in the entire franchise ever since its introduction as part ofPokemon’s very first generation, likely due to its “cute” design and its unique ability to evolve into eight different forms, often referred to as “Eeveelutions” by fans. While the well-rounded stats of Eevee are lesser than those of its evolved forms, one fan managed to catch anEevee with literally zero stats inPokemon GO, a rare yet useless find.

The remarkable dual-type Electric/Dragon Eeveelution was made by prolificPokemonfan artist and Reddit user In-ProgressPokemon, who posted their drawing to one of the forum website’s mainPokemonpages. Sporting an orange and cream coat reminiscent of Dragonite, the concept evolution is being called Raijeon, possibly indicating a taxonomical connection to the Legendary Pokemon Raikou. This is reinforced by Raijeon’s tail and shoulder appendages appearing similar to Raikou’s tail. Dark and electric blue accents adorn its body, along with a pair of horns that assert Raijeon’s Dragon-type half.

It seems quite a fewPokemonfans on the site are impressed with the Eevee evolution artwork as well, with the post racking up several dozen upvotes within just a few hours of it being posted. The post’s comment section is filled with nothing but compliments as well, with several fans asking whether the concept art is intended to be an evolution for Eevee or for Jolteon, likely given the character’s strong resemblance to the fan-favorite Eeveelution. ThePokemonfan artist has had somewhat similar comments with their previousdual-type Water/Rock Eevee Evolution art, appearing akin to Vaporeon.

In addition to making several unique dual-type Eeveelutions, the same artist has alsoimagined an impressive new evolution for Seadracalled Poseidra. Considered a “pseudo-legendary” evolution, the concept evolves Seadra into a literal horse/dragon combo, complete with an equine head and arms.

Hoping for an Eeveelution Revolution

While the artist’s impressive dual-type evolution ideas are purely fan art, thePokemonfranchise has the ability to incorporate similar ideas. Since the upcomingPokemon Legends: Z-Acan afford to get experimentalwith its mechanics, adding new or regional dual-type evolutions - or possibly even a long-awaited ninth Eeveelution - may not be too farfetched of an idea, though only time will tell.
