APokemonfan has recently shared an amazing animation depicting an Ice-type variant of Electivire. Electivire is an Electric-type creature originally introduced duringthe fourth generation ofPokemongames. Now, a fan called olafking3 has shared a short animation of Frostvire, an Ice-type variant of Electivire. According to olafking3, the fan work was inspired byan original concept created by pokedexfillers, who originally designed Frostvire and allowed olafking3 to make an animation depicting it in action. Originally, Frostvire was a convergent variant of Electivire that lived inside caves in an undisclosed cold region. Frostvire’s design is pretty cool, as it maintains the overall shape of Electivire’s body, but coves it in white and light blue fur that resembles snow. The post was praised by the community, which gave olafking3 over 2,800 upvotes.

Pokemon Fan Devises Amazing Ice-type Electivire

Creating alternative versions of popular Pokemon with distinct types is a pretty common theme in the community’s fan art. Last month, for example, one fan designeda Ground-type Eeveelution called Arideon. In this unique form inspired by red sand, the Eeveelution was depicted with orange and brown skin, as well as several beige stripes on its body.

Another interesting fan art that came out recently wasa Fire/Steel-type Krookodile, which turned the crocodile-inspired Pokemon into a completely different monster. The new design depicted the critter as a sort of robot with a furnace inside of it and smoke coming out of its nostrils, signalizing its powerful Fire-based abilities.

Sometimes, fan art depicting alternative forms for classic Pokemon also takes inspiration from specific concepts, going further than only changing the creature’s type. For example, afan devised a Flying-type Greek regional variant of Ponytaback in May. In this artwork, the creator turned Ponyta into a Pegasus but also used other ideas such as chariots, dog wheelchairs, and the aesthetics of the god Hermes to create a design that looked rather unique. In the new form, Ponyta looked like a white horse with blue feathers, Hermes’ shoes on its front legs, and a chariot-looking wheelchair as its back paws.
