Summary

A talentedPokemonfan has recently designed new regional variants for Oddish and its evolutions. ThePokemonfranchise currently has 1,025 creatures, plus alternative forms for some of them, but fans are never tired of imagining even unique designs in fan art.

Introduced inthe first generation ofPokemongames, Oddish is a Grass/Poison-type monster that evolves to Gloom at Level 21. After that, the creature can evolve into a Vileplume if the player uses a Leaf Stone on it. However, starting from Gen 2, using a Sun Stone on a Gloom could also turn into a Belossom. Unfortunately, Belossom was the last addition to the Oddish’s evolutionary line, and the Pokemon did not receive any official new forms or evolutions after that.

Now, aPokemonfan called StunseedCreative has devised unique regional variants for Oddish and its evolutions, including a new last form called Pompablom. StunseedCreative shared four pictures depicting these alternative Dark/Grass-type creatures, featuring each one separately and all of them together in another image. What stands out in these designs is that they are inspired by the Japanese Yakuza as it’s depicted in media. The alternative Oddish, for instance, still maintains the same overall form, but is a “Level 1 grunt,” with long hair. Gloom, on the other hand, has its head inspired by a teasel weed, and has long leaves covering its body. Finally, the new Pompablom is inspired by “Yakuza bosses,” and it has a huge pompadour hairstyle.

Oddish Evolutionary Line Receives Amazing Regional Variants in New Pokemon Fan Art

This is not the first time aPokemonfan has depicted a regional variant of Oddishand its evolutions in fan art. A few months ago, for example, one fan created an Oddish variant with “leaf miners” on its leaves. As the Pokemon evolves, the bugs eventually take over its body, becoming a completely different creature during its last evolution, which resembles a Gloom being controlled by an insect.

Regional variants are a pretty popular concept inPokemonfan art, and there are several amazing examples of how creative they can be. For instance, a fan created aWater/Psychic-type Psyduck evolutionary linelast year, which depicts the duck Pokemon as some kind of monk.

Another interesting variant shared with fans recently includedregional alternative Applin forms, which depicted the small creature and its evolutions as several types of food, including burgers and candy. Hopefully, morePokemonfans will be inspired by these creations and keep sharing even more awesome unofficial designs with the community.
