Summary
A weirdPokemon GObug is giving lesser Mega Energy than expected for Lucario, making it much more difficult for players to mega evolve the Pokemon after the raid event is over. Considering that this is the only way to get Mega Energy for certain Pokemon outside of raids inPokemon GO, this is proving to be a bummer for many fans.
While fans were mostly looking forward to GO Fest 2024: Global for the month of July, Niantic had some more events up its sleeve with the series of Ultra Unlock events. The first one marked thedebut of Maushold inPokemon GO, while the second one brings an evolution players have been waiting for years, Mega Lucario. Amid that, some players have run into a strange issue.
In a new post on the Silph Road subreddit user mastermatchaa highlights a pretty frustrating bug that players have been facing inPokemon GO. Apparently, players are only getting 15 Mega Energy for walking 5 km with Lucario, which is an anomaly. This is quite crucial for players considering that it is the only way to get Mega Energy after the raid event is over. While players do have some other ways to get Mega Energy for a few Pokemon throughField Research tasks inPokemon GO, players are stuck with only this option as far as Mega Lucario is concerned.
How Much Mega Energy Do You Get From Walking?
The Mega Energy players get from walking with a Pokemon usually varies by species. Pokemon which give a candy every 3 km give 15 Mega Energy, 5 km ones give 25 Mega Energy, and finally, 20km ones give 100 Mega Energy. Considering that Lucario lies in the 5km pool, it should give 25 Mega Energy. The initial mega evolution of Lucario requires 200 Mega Energy, and subsequent ones cost 40 Mega Energy. This means that players will need to walk an extra 5km with their Pokemon to get the required energy for the Pokemon, which makes it much more difficult toMega evolve the Pokemon inPokemon GO.
So far, Niantic has not acknowledged the issue pertaining to Mega Lucario yet. In the past, similar issues have surfaced and Niantic has resolved it seamlessly, so it is quite possible that the issue will be fixed without a proper announcement from Niantic. That being said, considering that it took quite a while forNiantic to acknowledge thePokemon GOFest 2024 issues, it might take a bit for this problem to be fixed.
