Niantic has announced thatPokemon GO’s September 2024 Community Day will feature Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta.Pokemon GOplayers will have the opportunity to catch the popular Fire-type from Kanto and its regional variant from Hisui, with the luckiest trainers able to find both creatures in shiny form.
Niantic had recentlyteased September’s Community Day Pokemon, indicating that players would have not just one but two monsters to capture. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the developer has announced this kind of Community Day. Previously, the March 2022 edition featured Sandshrew and its Alolan form, while 2023 had Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke in March and Wooper and its Paldean variant in November.
Pokemon GOrevealed Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta as the September Community Day critters. The event will take place on September 14 from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, and during this period, the two Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. By evolving Ponyta or Galarian Ponyta during the event or up to five hours after it,trainers will get Rapidashor Galarian Rapidash that knows Charged Attack Wild Charge, an attack that deals 90 damage in trainer battles and 100 damage in gyms and raids. Like in other Community Days, a Special Research will be available for $1.00 USD and can be gifted to friends with Friendship level Great Friends or higher.
Pokemon GO September Community Day Details
During September Community Day, players will get bonuses such as double Candy and triple Stardust when catching Pokemon and reducedStardust cost for Trades. Also, on September 14 from 5 pm to 10 pm local time,Pokemon GOwill have four-star raid battles with Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta. Additionally, by winning the raid, the spawn of the two critters will increase around the Gym that hosted it for 30 minutes. September’s Community Day will also feature themed Field Research, new showcases, two new bundles, and a special box on sale in-game and in Niantic’s online store, respectively. New stickers will be available for purchase in-game, by spinning PokeStops, or by opening Gifts.
In addition to September’s Community Day, Ponyta will be one of the Pokemon featured in theTriumph Together event, one of the last activities of August. During the event, players will team up to complete challenges, earning bonuses and special rewards. One of these will be meeting a Ponyta wearing a Candela-themed accessory, the leader of Team Valor, one of thePokemon GOfactions.
