Released in July 2022,PowerWash Simulatoris a first-person simulation game that, as its name implies, allows people to fulfill their dreams of running a small power washing business. The title published by Square Enix’s indie games division has received a steady stream of themed expansions since its launch, such asPowerWash Simulator’sFinal Fantasy 7DLCthat came out in March last year. Developer FuturLabs has just revealed the next crossover pack for its unique simulator that will take gamers to a beloved fairy-tale land.
The Shrek Special Pack forPowerWash Simulatorwas unveiled to the public during Nintendo’s August 27 Direct presentation, which, among other things, also showed off anewSpongeBob SquarePantsgamecentered around supporting character Patrick Star. This DLC will bring five maps inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s popular movie series, including Shrek’s Swamp, toPowerWash Simulator. It will come with additional achievements as well, according to the game’s official Twitter account.
PowerWash Simulator Gets New Shrek DLC
Based on a children’s picture book created by American cartoonist William Steig,Shrekis one ofDreamWorks Animation’s most popular movie franchises. The second installment in the series, 2004’sShrek 2, is among the highest-grossing films of all time, earning more than $928 million at the worldwide box office.
While a specific release date forPowerWash Simulator’s Shrek Special Pack was not mentioned during the latest Nintendo Direct, it should come soon “in the not too far, far away future,” according to the expansion’s trailer. A price was also not provided, butPowerWash Simulator’sAlice in Wonderland,Back to the Future, andWarhammer 40,000collaborations were each priced $7.99 when they dropped. FuturLabs has also given players free expansion packs in the past, one of them being theTomb RaiderDLC forPowerWash Simulator.
Two free expansions,Muckingham Files - Part 4andCruise Ship Sun Deck - Summer 2024, were released forPowerWash Simulatorin August. The former added two jobs, while the latter, part of FuturLab’s Seasonal Specials series of free updates, featured two new maps, as well as a summer-themed suit, gloves, and power washer skin.PowerWash Simulatorcurrently has an Overwhelmingly Positive overall rating on Steam based on more than 40,700 player reviews.
