Reacherseason 3 will be based on Lee Child’s book, Persuader, which is the seventh entry in the long-running series. Reacher will go undercover to bust a drug trafficking operation run by thenew villain, Zachary Peck(portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall).In the book, Reacher has a romantic relationship with a DEA Agent called Susan Duffy,who teams up with the ex-military investigator to solve the case. This character has been confirmed to appear inReacherseason 3, but her name has been changed to Sarah Duffy, and she’ll be played by Sonya Cassidy.Fans have been speculating over whether Reacher and Duffy will have a romantic relationship, as they did in the book version.
Reacher has had brief romances in both seasons of the action series thus far, so it might be a case of history repeating itself if they choose to go down this route again in season 3. However, it has been reported thatReacherseason 3will be quite faithful to the book its based on, so Reacher and Duffy’s romance will likely go ahead.If it does happen, it would be good if there was a different outcome to how things played out with Roscoe in season 1 and Karla Dixon in season 2 respectively. Reacher is the ultimate lone wolf and his relationships don’t tend to last, but he always manages to remain on good terms with his love interests.
Reacher Season 3 Might Opt to Bring Back Roscoe And Dixon To Complicate Reacher’s Love Life
Roscoe was not in season 2 ofReacher, and this was largely because her character didn’t feature in the book,Bad Luck And Trouble, whichReacherseason 2was based on. However, as the series progresses,there might be a willingness forReacherto deviate from the source material to feature the return of popular characters.Roscoe Coughlin was extremely popular andReacherseason 3 might choose to bring her back to create a potential love triangle with Reacher’s potential new love interest, Sarah Duffy.
Reacher and Roscoe had a very meaningful connection inReacherseason 2, and the relationship only ended because of Reacher’s proclivity to not stick around in one place too long. It would never have worked out for Reacher living in a small town like Margate, but the pair left on good terms.If the ex-military investigator needed some help with his latest case, he could definitely count on Roscoe to assist him.
Alternatively, ifthe 110th Special Investigators returninReacherseason 3, this could re-ignite Reacher’s romance with Karla Dixon. The pair had an equally engaging and meaningful relationship inReacherseason 2, and many fans would be happy to see them rekindle their romance in season 3. Reacher witnessed his friend,David O’Donnell,in the midst of his domestic life during season 2. He saw first hand how this had improved O’Donnell as a man, which did raise the possibility of Reacher considering settling down one day. However, the action series is expected to run for many more seasons, unlessReacher is affected by Paramount TV’s changes, so a permanent romance is probably not on the cards just yet.The dynamic ofReacherdoesn’t work if he’s limited to one location and a long-term relationship, so it’s likely the series will continue to focus on these brief romantic entanglementsuntil things eventually wrap up.
Many fans would be ecstatic to see Roscoe and Dixon inReacherseason 3, as it would add some tension to Reacher’s love life,which is a plot point that hasn’t yet been explored. Things have always ended on pleasant terms in Reacher’s romantic life, but a fight for his affections in season 3 could be very entertaining.
