In its latest financial report, Remedy revealed that theMax Payne 1&2remake entered full production during the second quarter, whereasControl 2moved forward to the “production readiness” stage. For theMax Payneremake, it highlighted that the devs have been working on building an early version of the game, playable from the beginning to the end, with a focus on “key differentiating gameplay features.” Moreover, the studio now has a playable build forControl 2that exhibits “several important features” as it looks to scale up production going further. Control Developer Sees an Uptick in Revenue
Besides sharing updates on its major IPs, Remedy announced raking in a revenue of EUR 10.3 million (~USD 11.25 million) during Q2 2024, a 16.2% jump compared to the same period in the previous year. The Finland-based developer also noted that it expects the revenue for the rest of the year to see an increase compared to last year and for its operating income to see an improvement as well. For that to happen, it appears that thephysical launch ofAlan Wake 2in Octobercould prove to be key.
Earlier in May,Remedy canceled what would have been a new IP, project Kestrel, in favor of putting its resources into games being developed under its existing franchises. Such unwavering commitment towards its established IPs suggests that fans can expect theAlan Wakestudio to give a hundred percent to the forthcomingMax Payne 1&2remake andControl 2.
