Summary
Dead by Daylight’s Chaos Shuffle could be returning to the game.Dead by Daylightcontinues to flourish. With the recently concluded 2v8 mode, the introduction of franchises likeCastlevaniaandTomb Raider, and the regular updates to improve gameplay, the 4v1 asymmetrical horror game has really developed well for an eight-year title. Some fans have grown to love some of the timed events that they wish could come back permanently.
A recent rumor recently stated thatLights Out will be returning toDead by Daylightby September. The report mentioned that it would likely tie-in with the release of theCastlevaniachapter. However, it was said that a few aspects of that mode would be changed during its return. While many fans had stated their preference for 2v8 to return, Twitter user dvveet provided some good news by confirming that Lights Out wasn’t the only modifier to be coming back to the game soon.
In a new tweet by dvveet, they mentioned that Chaos Shuffle would be returning toDead by Daylightfrom September 24 to October 8. Chaos Shuffle was an alternate game mode that saw Survivors being assigned randomperks from theDead by Daylightpool. It had a separate queue from the main game and gave a bloodpoints bonus boost with every match. The modifier added some challenge for players by making them adapt to the unique mix of perks assigned. It also allowed gamers to experience unique builds by forcing them to stray away from the meta.
What Should Fans Expect With The Return of Chaos Shuffle
Dvveet further clarified that the upcoming Chaos Shuffle would just be an extension of the original release. This meant that it would retain the same features as its previous iteration, unlike the returning Lights Out mode with new modified mechanics inserted. The case was similar to what happened withDead by Daylight’s 2v8, which had an extended run without tampering or adjusting any of gameplay nuances in that mode.
As the game is in its eighth year, it’s highly likely that Behavior may be testing the waters on how to improve and refresh gameplay mechanics. The introduction of new Survivors, Killers, and Perks allowed the developers to come up with other ways to freshen up the game. However, even with these updates, the constant drive to come up with ideas on how to shake up the 1v4 mechanics is part of what inspires modifiers and events such asDead by Daylight’s Lights Outand Chaos Shuffle. Many fans hope that these timed events will eventually lead to creating a new experience forDead by Daylightplayers.
