Summary
Yet another rumor about a newBloodbornegame project has surfaced, but this time, it comes from a rather unexpected source. There have been countless whispers and rumors surrounding moreBloodborneprojects in recent years, but none of them have panned out so far amid continuously rising fan demand.
Launched in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive,Bloodborneis regarded by many as one of the greatest, most distinctive games developer FromSoftware has ever made.Bloodborne’s gothic horror elementsand Lovecraftian creatures were a steep departure from the medieval setting of theDark Soulsseries, drawing intrigue and resonating immensely well with players. However, the 30fps framerate cap stuck out like a sore thumb for manyBloodbornefans, which is why pleas for a remaster started ballooning after the launch of the PS5 in holiday 2020. To date, though, Sony has yet to confirm any future plans for theBloodborneIP.
However, this hasn’t slowed down theBloodbornerumor mill, and insider DanielRPK is the latest source to add to it. In a recent post on hispaywalled Patreon channel, the insider said, “I hear there’s a newBloodbornegame project in development.” There was no further elaboration on whether this purportedBloodborneproject is a remaster, sequel, or remake, but DanielRPK’s insight is unusualas far asBloodbornerumorsgo, as the insider mostly dabbles in movie-related leaks with occasional coverage on games. Therefore, while his information may not turn out to be accurate, it is noteworthy at the very least.
More Bloodborne May Come in the Future, But a Grain of Salt is Advised
DanielRPK previously leaked allegedconcept art from an unannounced PlayStation Studios game, which he supposedly acquired from a casting call. However, the insider didn’t provide any such details about where he obtained his information regarding a futureBloodbornegame project, which seems rather questionable when coupled with the vagueness around the project’s nature. Like with every rumor, especially aBloodborneone, fans should maintain a healthy level of skepticism until Sony officially speaks about it.
If a newBloodborneproject is currently being worked on at Sony, though, it might be in the hands of an internal PlayStation team rather than FromSoftware. A few months ago, reliable insider Jeff Grubb claimed that FromSoftware is not involved in thedevelopment of aBloodborneremaster or PC portat the moment, which leaves a small window of possibility for Sony to carry the franchise forward by itself, especially since it owns theBloodborneIP. Given how much interest still lies inBloodborneeven after nine years, it’s difficult to imagine Sony doesn’t have any plans to expand it in the future, but all that remains to be seen.
