Scott Games marked the anniversary ofFive Nights at Freddy’swith the release of FNAFInto the Pit. However, aside from that, they also released four pages of screenplay, but there was a catch.
Five Nights at Freddy’s(FNAF)just celebrated a milestone – its 10th anniversary. FNAF is a video game series and media franchise by Indie game developer Scott Cawthon. The horror game that features scary animatronics, includingBonnie the purple Rabbit, the giant yellow chicken Chica, a broken-down robot pirate fox named Foxy, and Freddy, a slow-moving brown teddy bear, was first released on Jun 06, 2025, and became a hit. The franchise includes 10 main video games, and several spin-off games, novels, and a movie adaptation. Aside from treating fans with theearly release ofInto the Pit,Scott Games fueled fans' joy and excitement by releasing multiple pages of screenplays for the anticipatedFive Nights at Freddy’ssequel. However, there was a huge twist in the post, prompting discussion among fans as they debated which of the four pages would appear inFive Nights at Freddy’s 2.
On Thursday, Scott Games took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared four pages ofFNAF 2screenplays. However, there was a big catch – not all of the snippets were real. Only one will make it into the next film. “There is one more surprise before the day is over. We will be releasing one page from the actualFive Nights at Freddy’s 2movie screenplay!“Scott Games announced. “Of course, it might be more interesting if it were released alongside three FAKE screenplay pages. It will be up to the fanbase to figure out which page is REAL. Happy 10th Anniversary!” Twenty minutes after the initial announcement, Scott Games droppedfour pages of screenplays.
One scene features Toy Chica stroking Abby’s head as the latter enters a code to free them. The code is fromVanessa, who is seemingly in painas an unexplainable force squeezes (presumably another animatronic) her to force her to share the code. Vanessa is watching Toy Chica and Abby from a computer screen in a storage room at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. The second page features a conversation between General Everly and Captain Nelson. The former said he never liked the project and the latter argued that Fazbear Entertainment was more than a pizza place. However, Everly dismissed the argument and called it a “circus” while questioning why the government funded the company that works on robots designed to entertain kids. Everly opens a report and frowns when he reads, “Observable effects of unobservable energy exchanges.” The third page features a conversation between Mike and Abby, talking about a little boy who got sick and had a contagious disease that even the things he touched had to be burned, including his plushies, because they were dangerous. The page ends with Mike calling Vanessa on the phone and telling her to wear dark clothing because they have a job. The last page is set in Freddy’s Pizzeria and theater dining room. It features a man with two kids named Gemma and Darrin. The man leads the kids to a motionless carousel and turns it on by pressing a big red button. The carousel’s characters include a brown bear, a blue bunny, a yellow chick, a pirate fox, a gator, a wolf, and a hippo. Gemma wants the bunny, but the man tells them they are not there for a ride. Instead, the man leads the children down a staircase and ensures they follow him.
The post receives mixed responses from the netizens, who immediately debate on what page is the right one. And there’s no denying that any page could be the right one. However, page four is most likely the appropriate one forFive Nights at Freddy’s 2. Cawthon listens to fans and previously said he wants the film to align with the games. SinceFNAF 2is a prequel to the first film, that suggests that the setting takes place before the firstFive Nights at Freddy’smovie starring Mike and Abby. Thus, Abby is likely very young or not even born inFNAF 2, since the movie takes place around 2000. Also, at the time, Mike doesn’t know Vanessa yet because they only met in the first movie, suggesting that the first and third pages could be fake. Also, the second-page talks about the government’s involvement, which is a scrapped concept in the franchise. Thus, it is unlikely to be part of the real script. This leaves page 4 as the most likely genuine script. However, other fans may or may not agree with this.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2will hit theaters on July 30, 2025.
