We are going to follow Sidney.

It had been rumored thatScream 7would be a Sidney focused story, so it was good to get confirmation from Neve Campbell that this would indeed be the case.

They did pitch the concept to me, and it’s the reason that I jumped on board.

Campbell added to this statement, by saying she hadn’t received the final script yet, but she was expecting it imminently. This could also explain why the fans haven’t been given many details, as it appears Campbell doesn’t know much more until she reads the final draft ofScream 7.

Fans Could Lose Interest In Scream 7 If More Information Isn’t Released Soon

Fans are still largely in the dark over what to expect fromScream 7, despite Neve Campbell providing tidbits of information in her recent interview. If more information isn’t released soon,Scream 7runs the risk of fans losing interest in it.There are plenty of other slasher movies coming out, with the sub-genre in the midst of a renaissance, and this could pushScream 7to the back of the queue.

Scream 7was due to begin filming in September of this year, but this has now been pushed back to December, with fans becoming increasingly impatient with the progress of the upcoming sequel. Neve Campbell elaborated on the filming delays in a recentinterview with IndieWire:

We were supposed to start in September, but we’re going to start in December now because of some scheduling stuff with Kevin and myself and having that all aligned. And actually, I think it’s a good thing, because we’re going to be able to have the time to get it really right. So I’m very excited about it.

With four months still to go until the commencement of filming onScream 7, fans will need to be kept engaged with some big announcementsduring this time. This could come in the form of casting announcements of new actors joining the project, as well as confirmation of Courteney Cox and Patrick Dempsey’s returns.Scream 7’s filming delaycould end up being a good thing,as fans want a great Scream movie, rather than a sub par entry that has been rushed into production.

If things go quiet again over the next few months, it could create some serious concerns over the prospects ofScream 7, with fans already questioning Spyglass Media’s abilities after they essentially derailed the Carpenter sisters' planned story forScream 7. Fans want to have confidence in the direction ofScream 7, but the longer they are kept in the dark, the doubts will start to creep in.
