Sea of Thievesis an online action-adventure sailing game created by Rare. Players take on the role of pirates sailing the high seas and exploring the open world around them.Sea of Thieveswas originally released in 2018 and received a mixed reception from players. Since then, the game has received multiple updates to both game features and content and even became themost played game for the PlayStation 5 at launch. The previous update brought players into Season 13 of the game and included several events and rewards for players, but was not without a few bugs.
The latest patch forSea of Thieves, originally announced on the game’s Twitter and website, features several fixes to gameplay bugs. This is not a full content update, but rather a hotfix to address these few bugs plaguingSea of Thievesafter update 3.1.0. Captain Briggsy’s note is now functioning as intended, fixing a bug that caused the note to disappear when it shouldn’t. Alongside this, players will now receive the desired outcome when speaking with Umbra while wearing a specific cosmetic item.
Updates were also made to theSkeleton Camps inSea of Thieves. Many interim hotfixes have been replaced with more permanent solutions. Adjustments have been made to additional rituals being awarded to players who attempt to complete a ritual with multiple crew members. On top of that, a fix has been added to stop players from gaining additional rituals when interfering with their network connection in the game.
Sea of Thievesplayers will also find updates coming to theBurning Blade and the Flame Rises. This includes adjustments to alliances being formed while in control of the Burning Blade, treasure that is held within the Burning Blade, and the intended effects of using Bone Callers. Alongside this, fixes have been added to allow players to progress through the Ritual Recovery Commendation.
Finally, the performance and stability ofSea of Thieveshave been improved for PS5 players. While a majority of fixes have been addressed with update 3.1.0.1, there are still a few known issues that are currently being tracked on the game’s website.Sea of Thievesplayers are able to download and install this patch currently on all platforms and can continue to enjoy Season 13 with fewer bugs.
