In arecentDiablo 4Campfire Chat, Blizzard’s development team gave a sneak peek at the upcoming 2.0 PTR update, which is set to bring some of the most significant changes to the game since its launch. Associate Director of Community Adam Fletcher led the discussion, which also included insights from key developers like Colin Finer, Aislyn Hall, Charles Dunn, and Jeevun Sidhu. They highlighted major updates to the Paragon system, the addition of new Difficulty tiers, the introduction of new Class Skills and Passives, and more, all aimed at enhancing player customization and enriching endgame content.

Diablo 4 2.0 PTR Available from September 4 to September 11

Diablo 4’s Paragon Pointswill now be linked to a new Realm-based leveling system. This means that any Paragon Levels players earn will be shared across all their characters within the same Realm, creating a more unified progression experience. The distinction between Paragon and character levels will also allow players to unlock more Skill Points, providing them with more options for customizing their characters. For those with characters above Level 50, their experience-based Paragon Points will be converted to Realm-wide Paragon Levels, helping players reach endgame content more quickly.

The update also brings a revamped Difficulty system, replacingDiablo 4’s old World Tierswith four new Standard Difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitent. Each level presents different challenges and rewards. As players progress through these difficulties, they will encounter new hazards, such as reduced armor and resistance, adding an extra layer of difficulty to their gameplay.

The PTR is a crucial phase for Blizzard to collect player feedback on these upcoming changes before they go live. This feedback will help the development team refine balance adjustments, fix bugs, and ensure that the updates deliver the best experience when they officiallylaunchDiablo 4Season 6. Players are encouraged to jump into the PTR, test the new features, and share their thoughts to help shape the next chapter of their adventure in Sanctuary.
