Randy Meeks paid for his big mouth inScream 2’s best idea, when Mrs Loomis' Ghostface pulled him into the news van and stabbed him to death after he was rather disparaging about her beloved son, Billy Loomis. However,Randy’s death wasn’t the last time the audience saw Jamie Kennedy play the fan favorite character, as he returned in a cameo inScream 3.
Turns out, Randy had an idea he might die during the murder spree at Windsor College inScream 2, and he made a video to help Sidney, Dewey and Gale in a future attack by a Ghostface killer. When the murders start up again in Hollywood during the filming ofStab 3: Return to WoodsboroinScream 3, Randy’s younger sister, Martha, turns up on the set to hand the videotape of Randy’s message to Sidney, Dewey and Gale. The Woodsboro survivors watch on as their old friend goes through the rules to survive the third part of a trilogy.

Dewey had clearly listened to Randy’s rules intently inScream 2andScream 3, as he was accurate in predicting what would happen during the latest attacks inScream (2022).
David Arquette should return to the role of Dewey Riley inScream 7, in an unearthed video that he recorded before his untimely death inScream (2022).This video could show Dewey informing Sidney and Gale of the vital rules to help them survive Ghostface inScream 7, just like Randy did inScream 3.
Dewey was known to follow Randy’s advice, so there is a good chance he could’ve made a video for Sidney and Gale in the event of his death inScream (2022). Dewey benefitted from Randy’s video inScream 3, and probably logged it down as a possible way to help his friends from beyond the grave during a future attack. As well as informing his friends of the rules to survive a seventh movie, the video could be used to reveal some vital information that could shed light on who might be behind the latest attacks.
Fans have speculated for years that Stu Macher could be alive, and possibly leading acult of Ghostface killersto carry out the continuing murders. There’s a chance that Dewey was the only one who was aware of Stu’s survival, and took this information to the grave. However, he might’ve decided to make a video revealing this information, so Sidney and Gale were aware of the potential threat.
In another nod toScream 3, it could be Martha who delivers this recording to Sidney and Gale, just like she did with Randy’s video.Martha was still a resident of Woodsboro inScream (2022), with Heather Matarazzo returning to play the character, who is the mother ofChad and Mindy.There’s a chance that Dewey gave the recording to Martha when he visited her house with Sam and Richie, to discuss the latest murders.
It would be a way to bring Dewey Riley back in a meaningful way inScream 7, rather than a pointless cameo that doesn’t move the story forward.Dewey still had a lot to offer the Scream franchise, before his unpopular death inScream (2022), and it would be a fitting tribute to David Arquette’s legendary impact on the franchise to bring him back one final time from beyond the grave, to help Sidney and Gale inScream 7.
