6Jolee Bindo
The Wise Advisor & Fierce Friend
The old hermit Jolee Bindo is a fan favorite in theKOTORgames, and a side character that players can recruit when they visit the Wookiee planet Kashyyyk. Jolee assists Revan in his mission to find a star map in the depths of the jungle planet, while aiding the player in solving a family dispute among numerous angry Wookiees. While much of Bindo’s backstory is unknown, he is a strong force user occupying the gray side of the force.
Although he’s not a particularly sentimental nor charismatic Jedi, Jolee Bindo assumes theadvisory role on the player’s team, guiding the player as they navigate the light and dark during the game’s story. Jolee is a fierce friend and ally, prepared to do what is right rather than adhering to dogmatic Jedi and Sith doctrines, such as assisting his friend Sunry in his trial on the Selkath planet Mannan.
5Bastila Shan
The Ability to Influence Battles
The legendary Jedi Bastila Shan is a powerful warrior and trusted ally of Revan. Bastila, having once attempted to capture Revan, assists him in his fight against Darth Malak. Bastila is unique in that she knows the Force power called battle meditation — a force technique that can turn the tide of battle,influencing ship combat.
Prized by Malak for her ability, the Sith Lord effortlessly pursues Bastila throughout the galaxy, eventually capturing her. Revan must face Bastila after capture, fighting the Jedi after she falls to the Dark Side as Darth Malak’s apprentice. Bastila later marries Revan, having a child with the former Sith Lord.
4Vandar Tokare
The Yoda Of KOTOR
Vandar Tokare was a Jedi master who led the Dantooine Jedi council. An elite Jedi, Vandar is a member of Yoda’s species, with the distinct green features that characterize their race. The little green Jedi has a prominent role in the story ofKOTOR.
While Vandar is not as well-known as Yoda, he is just as powerful, training numerous Jedi and leading battalions in battles such as the Mandalorian wars. Vandar Tokare is also one of the main architects behind the Sith Lord Revan’s mind wipe and his turn to the Light Side as a Jedi.
3Vrook Lamar
Steadfast Practitioner Of The Light Side
Another powerful member of the Dantooine Jedi Council, Vrook Lamar, alongside fellow Jedi masters such as Vandar Tokare, sets players off on their mission to save the galaxy. Knowing the player is Revan, Vrook is skeptical of the former dark lord and initially refuses, unlike other council members, to retrain him as a Jedi.
While Vrook is a staunch Jedi and Light Side user, he is fearful of the Dark Side, advising the player’s character about the Dark Side of the force. A strong force-wielder, Vrook is known for his green lightsaber and knowledge of advanced techniques. Vrook was later featured inStar Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.
2Juhani
A True Jedi
Encountered in the grove on Dantooine, Juhani is a former Jedi who turned to the Dark Side after her master’s death. Upon dueling and defeating Juhani, players must decide whether to kill or save her. If players choose to save her, she is redeemed by the Dantooine Jedi council, becoming a prominent but powerful ally on the player’s team.
While the Juhani is not the most powerful on this list, she is the most deserving of being called a Jedi, coming close to death and risking it all as she falls into darkness only to return to the light after being defeated by Revan. Juhani is also the firstLGBTQ character inStar Wars.
1Revan
The Most Powerful Jedi
Revan, or Darth Revan, isKOTOR’smain protagonist. Upon boarding Darth Malak’s spaceship, known as the Leviathan, near the game’s final chapter, Malak reveals the truth about the player’s character as the former dark lord. Apowerful lightsaber duelist, force user, and master of both the Light and Dark Sides, Revan is the true balance of the force, able to wield both sides in combat.
Although Revan was a famed and powerful Sith lord, he was just as powerful as a Jedi, defeating Malak during the game’s finale. Likewise, Revan is known to have beaten other powerful foes such as Mandalore the Ultimate pre-KOTOR,and famed bounty hunter Calo Nord during the games. By no stretch of the imagination, Revan is the most powerful Jedi inKOTOR.
