The consequences of a player’s actions and choices will be front and center. Despite being such a thrilling concept, it also raises some questions and concerns about who will be given the role of protagonist inEclipse.

Interconnecting Stories Still Need a Protagonist to Focus On

However, these protagonists are made very clear, whileStar Wars Eclipse’s approach to characters seems a bit more complicated.Allowing players to shape the story ofStar Wars Eclipseis intriguing, but if any character can die unexpectedly, then it’s also possible that there won’t be one set protagonist.
Of course, every playable character could be seen as a main protagonist within their own set narrative, which could be compelling. However, it’s unknown how far Quantic Dream is taking its interconnected story concept. If there are 20 characters who could be considered protagonists, it almost seems impossible to become connected to them in any meaningful way. Introducing an all-new raceknown as the Zaraanand promising a variety of exciting backstories and lifestyles could easily become overwhelming if there isn’t a character who serves as a focal point.
The biggestbenefit ofDetroit: Become Humanis that Quantic Dream kept the protagonists narrowed down to three characters: Connor, Markus, and Kara. Keeping the main story contained to only these characters not only helped keep the story easier to follow, it also allowed players to truly know these characters and become immersed in their backstories and feelings.

However, it would be a huge shame if Quantic Dream’s vision proved to be too large in scope. At first, many different characters with various connected storylines sounds amazing, but there is also a difficult balancing act in keeping the story from feeling bloated or confusing.Star Wars Eclipse’s charactershopefully won’t be stretched too thin.
