Summary

AStardew Valleyplayer who has been enjoying the game with their 76-year-old mother recently shared some heartwarming bonding moments between the two of them and a view of their farm after five in-game years. While the progress the mother has made is well behind what a lot ofStardew Valleyplayers would expect by that point, fans seem enamored with their approach to the game.

Although console players haven’t got their hands on it yet,Stardew ValleyUpdate 1.6brought a lot of PC players back to the cozy farm game in March, and the indie game from solo developer ConcernedApe attracted a big following long before that. With its intentionally simplistic presentation and easy-to-learn controls, it’s a cozy game that can be picked up and played by players of all ages.

As shared by Reddit user doorkeytv, their mother’s farm is relatively bare, with the house and a small coop as the onlyStardew Valleybuildingson the property, aside from the greenhouse, which hasn’t been completed yet. Despite the lack of buildings, the farm appears to be well-organized, with the types of trees separated into groups, several of them with tappers attached. Sprinklers are in use in the crop fields, and a mix of beehives and kegs line the eastern property line. But the highlight of the farm is probably the collection of 21 Preserve Jars along the house’s west side, as the Reddit user said their mother’s favored activity is making different types of jelly and telling them which fruits are the best to use.

76-Year-Old Stardew Valley Player Steals The Fan Base’s Hearts

Most commenters seem to be enamored with the septuagenarian player’s relaxed approach to the game, although one was bold enough to ask what she’s been doing for the past five in-game years to make so little progress. In response, doorkeytv said it’s her first game that uses a mouse and keyboard, so it took her entire first year just to clear the land, but she’s recently saved up enough for the first house upgrade and is excited to start cooking. She hasn’t made it past Level 10 in theStardew Valleymines, but she’s getting better at killing slimes, and she may be working on the Community Center bundles, as she has no love for the JoJa Corporation.

Of course, this player isn’t limiting themselves to dungeon delving and farm maintenance. She’s also very much engaged in social interactions with the residents of Pelican Town and likes to gossip about them with her child. She likes Linus and respects his lifestyle choices and is saddened that she can’t marry Demetrius, but she used her motherly influence to make sure her child married Leah in their game. Meanwhile, her biggest shock was the scandalous discovery ofMayor Lewis' Purple Shortsin Marnie’s bedroom.
