The different weapon manufacturers inStarfieldmay not be as over-the-top and immediately recognizable as theBorderlandsfranchise’s weapon manufacturers. However, there are still some subtle distinctions inStarfield’s weaponry that boil down to their manufacturer’s signature mark.

So, aside from looking at their raw weapon stats, players may want to become familiar with each weapon manufacturer’s signature traits to help determine the good loot from the bad.

S-Tier Weapon Manufacturers in Starfield

Allied Armaments

This is one of the most reliable weapons manufacturers in the game, considering that their weapons all have relatively well-rounded stats. Consequently, getting a hold of an Allied Armaments weapon with theperfect legendary weapon rolls inStarfieldis something that players will probably have a hard time replacing.

House Va’ruun

These weapons inStarfieldare typically expensive and rare, and rightfully so, because they are quite powerful for their respective weapon archetypes. This is mainly because Va’ruun weapons naturally combine Physical and Energy damage, so they have a wide range of use cases. With House Va’ruun being considered one of the best weapons manufacturers in the game, there’s a lot of demand forStarfield’s upcoming Shattered Space DLCto expand upon this weapon manufacturer’s catalog of weapons.

A-Tier Weapon Manufacturers in Starfield

Laredo

This weapons manufacturer closely resembles theBorderlandsfranchise’s Jakobs weapons, as they both offer weapons that prioritize high Physical damage at the expense of having low ammo/magazine capacities. Some of Laredo’s best weapons are the ones that truly emphasize this dynamic, such as the Coachman shotgun and the Razorback revolver pistol.

Old Earth

There are only four types of Old Earth weapons in the game currently, so they are naturally among some ofthe rarest weapons inStarfield, but this isn’t necessarily indicative of their exceptional quality. By no means do Old Earth weapons have any distinguishable flaws, but these weapons are generally known for being lightweight rather than being the best-in-class for damage compared to other weapons manufacturers that specialize in Physical weapons.

B-Tier Weapon Manufacturers in Starfield

Kore Kinetic

Kore Kinetic weapons generally offer a balance between Allied Armaments and Laredo weapons, given that they have slightly below-average ammo capacities, but they still have relatively high damage. These weapons also tend to have superior bullet velocities, which makes them a great option for long-range combat. However, none of the Kore Kinetics weapons can be equipped with a silencer mod, so, unfortunately, they don’t mix well withstealth builds inStarfield.

C-Tier Weapon Manufacturers in Starfield

Combat Tech

These weapons are typically cheap to obtain when found at a vendor, which speaks to how underwhelming these weapons are. Not to mention, the lack of an upfront price tag on these weapons comes back around with the ammo that players will constantly need for these weapons since they aren’t very ammo-efficient.

Crimson Fleet

Crimson Fleetis another weapons manufacturer inStarfieldthat has a similar counterpart in theBorderlandsfranchise, in this case,Borderlands’ Bandit weapons. These two weapons manufacturers are known for their weapons’ high capacity and fire rate, while having lackluster damage output. Consequently, Crimson Fleet weapons are highly effective at applying status effects, but they have a tough time outright killing enemies with a reasonable amount of ammo.

D-Tier Weapon Manufacturers in Starfield

Arboron

This manufacturer specializes in Electromagnetic (EM) weaponry, which stuns enemies with non-lethal damage. On ship weapons, EM damage is useful for creating the opportunity toraid enemy ships inStarfieldwithout destroying them in the process, but on standard weapons, so far, there are arguably little to no realistic use cases for stunning targets instead of killing them outside of roleplaying.
