Netflix’sStranger ThingsandHarry Potterhave a few things in common, from themagical aspects of the story to the young main characters who team up to fight evil and preserve good. To say that both franchises have huge fanbases would be a big understatement as they have some of the most popular properties in popular culture. When thinking about theStranger Thingsseason 5 finale, it would be cool to see the show get inspired by one aspect ofHarry Potter.

As fans prepare to see their favorite characters getting ready for battle and still finding some time to have fun along the way, the focus is onVecna (Jamie Campbell Bower)’s storylineand all the threads that need to be tied up in theStranger Thingsseason 5 finale. How Could Stranger Things Season 5 Take Inspiration From Harry Potter For The Series Finale?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallowshas anepilogue that shows the main characters grown up and introduces fans to their children.Stranger Thingsseason 5 could feature a similar ending in the final moments of the series finale. Since it seems like the only possible ending is the main characters winning after fighting Vecna, there could be a five to ten-minute epilogue showing where the characters are in the future. This would be an emotional and memorable way to finish the series which has been such an engaging and fun ride since its premiere in 2016.

While fans might disagree aboutEddie Munson’s (Joseph Quinn) possible return, most would like to see some of the main couples end up together. The epilogue could be set ten years in the future and could showMike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) raising their kids in Hawkins along with Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin). It’s also hard not to hope that Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Jim Hopper (David Harbour) will stay together after being separated for much ofStranger Thingsseason 4 and having a moving reunion.

It’s also possible that the main characters will find a new place to live and leave the pain and suffering that they experienced in Hawkins behind. Even if some characters move back to Hawkins when they’re older, it’s unrealistic to expect them all to settle down there.Maybe Robin (Maya Hawke) and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) move to Europe or live abroad for a whilebut always come back home to visit the other characters. It should be made clear that the main characters keep in touch since they’ve seen so much evil together and they always spend the holidays together. No one wants to imagine The Party breaking up forever.

There also needs to be acompelling ending for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp)along with characters like Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry) and Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton). Hopefully, all three will find happiness in their personal and professional lives and fans will find out what careers they have and see them working toward their dreams.

IfStranger Thingsseason 5 happens after the apocalypse, then this kind ofHarry Potter-style epilogue will be even more enjoyable to watch. The main characters will have struggled more than fans even thought they would, and they all need to end up in a better place.

How Else Should Stranger Things Season 5 End?

Fans want to see two main things in theStranger Thingsseason 5 finale:a full and complete explanation about the Upside Downand Hawkins, Indiana (and the rest of the world) restored to normalcy. There is also the hope there will be some fun surprises in the final episodes since this is the last opportunity to raise the stakes, have some big reveals, and go on another wild ride with these fan-favorite characters.

From what the cast and showrunners have said about theStranger Thingsseason 5 finale, fans are going to be happy while also feeling a lot of emotions about what Eleven and the others have faced over the last few years. In 2023,David Harbour spoke about theStranger Thingsseries finale on the podcast “Happy Sad Confused.“According toVariety, he said:

“I know what it is. I know where we net out and it’s very, very moving. That is the term I will use.”

The Duffer Brothers were interviewed on the same podcast and shared a little bit about theStranger Thingsseason 5 ending. According toEntertainment Weekly, Ross Duffer said:

“While a lot of Season 5 is actually pretty blurry, the last 30 minutes of it are pretty clear in our heads. So if we can make the journey entertaining, I think that we have an end that will hopefully satisfy. You can’t satisfy everyone, but the hope is that it’s something that feels right for this story.”
